Just think if we had Posh and Julian Champagnie in the lineup instead of XJ and Toney. Then add in Wahab. But close doesn’t it get it done unfortunately.
Today was the first I’ve seen of St John’s this year and I thought about this the entire game. Julian (who I was surprised is bigger than Justin) w/ his bro would have been excellent and Toney would have had to fought for minutes. Posh would be pushing to start OR starting and either way, X would be transferring after this year.

I thought Julian straight up loved St. John's. That was why he opted to come out year early when he was previously hesitant. When the dust settled, it seemed like he was never gonna go with Pitt. Just be glad Justin didn't end up at SJU too I guess.
Don't know the Posh story but that's a miss if Pitt passed on him and SJU scooped him up.

Yeah I recall we could have had Julian but the staff wasn’t sold on him like Justin. Big time miss.
I recall people being cool when Capel passed on Julian and Posh because Jeff was going after “bigger fish.”
Cool story, but the only opinion that matters is the head coach and the assistants on his staff.
I was one of them and terribly wrong! But I was basing it off of star rating only as Justin was a four star and Julian was a three star.

Julian wasn’t a miss. Capel said they wanted to take both but Julian thought he needed a year of prep Capel said fine they would have a ship for him the next year. Then when Julian decided to go the college route late Pitt didn’t have a ship for him. But yeah, let’s just say Capel missed.
Justin explained on Packer and Durham that his brother was endeared to St John’s because their dad played soccer there. Julian was going there. We were fortunate enough to get Justin. I saw Posh play last year against Hickory. His strength and quickness were impressive. He was a man among the guards. He was a great get for them.
Where are these "bigger fish" we heard about? So far, we haven't gotten one of them and none are on the horizon.
Posh was a miss, for sure. Not sure if it was Femi or Posh I guess.
The "going after big fish" recruiting tactic is nice, but when you don't land any, it's time to re-evaluate. Pitt needs to live in that 75-250 type of guy.

Anderson isn’t the worst coach in the world. He’s an upgrade over Mullin and should have them in the middle of the pack in the Big East moving forward. Not that that’s really good enough, but St John’s has almost nothing going for it and certainly could’ve done worse.
Well Mullin wasnt even a coach so of course Anderson is an upgrade. What I mean though is you hire Capel to recruit, not necessarily to X and O his way to victory. And if he can't beat Mike Anderson for a needed player like Posh then you have problems.
We didn't pass on Julian. He picked SJU, partially because he and Justin decided that they wanted to split up for the first time in their lives. Justin publicly said so last year.

Remember Capel wasn't used to missing at Duke. He was always getting his guy. I Know he didn't expect it to be that easy at Pitt. That said, I think he is finding out what a tough job it is getting "big fish" to commit to Pitt. I am certain he didn't expect it to be so difficult
