To the Narduzzi haters...you would have fired if HCPN finished 2nd in the Coastal?

This is where he has us with a team missing quite a few people. We were not picked to be as good as this and once again, he did more with less at PITT.

I think no one has him "fired", unless there was a total collapse and likely not even then. But.........is this more mirrors? I mean at the end of the day, it wil be 7-5 again.

He never loses his team, which says alot. But he has too many games that look like mulligans every year that doesn't allow this program to advance.

A) We were picked to finish pretty much exactly where we're currently at. We were picked 8th, and we sit in a 3-way tie for spots 7/8/9.

B) Whose fault is it for the low preseason expectations? Is your argument that it's okay to be mediocre every year as long as you keep assembling teams that are supposed to be mediocre?

You have got to be kidding!
We are 5-4 with a cake schedule (59th SOS), in HCPN’s 6th season with what was supposed to be his best team.
Do you realize when you say that he did more with less again, you’re criticizing him. HCPN is the person completely RESPONSIBLE for what players are on his team.
I think if you google “2nd place in the ACC coastal” the results are - mediocre, average, not a top 50 program.

the difference between where we are now and where most of us optimistically put Pitt is really the only difference of a one point loss and a loss in OT. Even the most optimistic of us had us losing to miami and Notre dame..

Yeah - but that’s a mighty big difference... This was supposed to be the year we have the talent to win those two games, not just come close...

Go Pitt.

yes, i agree. close losses arent justified, that's a loser mentality. im dissapointed with this year and narduzzi. i dont want him fired but i do hope we see asst coaching changes..

And ALL this prognostic claims were made way before 2020 went completely nuts...

Where was PSU supposed to end up?
Let’s quit pretending it’s a “normal “ season.

leaving pitt out of it, i wonder if harbaugh and franklin get a pass for this year being a mess..

Franklin should because this year does seem like such an outlier compared to the trajectory he’s had them on.

Harbaugh doesn’t because this season seems like the culmination of the trajectory he’s had them on.

Narduzzi is far closer to Harbaugh than Franklin in that regard.

He is responsible for injuries and our best player sitting out the season because of Corona?

So do you believe that Penn Sate has a tougher schedule than PITT? This is what your computer is telling you.

PSU's season is an outlier alright, as it's historically bad ... I mean, no preseason top 10 team has ever started the year 0-5.

no, i think most had us beating NC state and BC and losing to miami and ND..

And had us beating those teams because we were suppose to be so much better than them in quality.

That’s the entire point some of us are making. People saying, “hey, we’re one or two points away from having the record we were suppose to have” are having a completely separate discussion from the one the rest of us are having. Which is that this team is still ranked about 50ish in the analytics. We might be close to having the record some of you wanted, but we aren’t anywhere close to have the *quality of team* some of you expected.

We are average, we should be good. No one expected great.

I agree.

LOL - You are clearly trolling now.

Are you kidding...put Jurkovich on the team with the All-American talent that is on Clemson. He is on BC and he has made that a substantially better program Even the guys on the "Huddle" have said the same thing about Jurkovich. I'm not trolling....no dog in either fight....just my opinion.

Did I even mention Penn St??
Yeah they suck this year, we are better than them. But then again so is Kent St, so I’m not sure of your point.

I see you are doubling down on stupidity. NOBODY that has even the slightest bit of football knowledge would pick Jurkovec over Lawrence.

Again with beating this drum?

I like Phil's game but he is no Trevor. He needs to balance his rocket arm with more touch and precision. Still too many bad misses from him, but he is still young. He may end up being better when it is all said and done, but right now no.

As far as what they said on "Huddle" those guys are talking heads. I wouldn't head to the casino to place bets based on their "analysis."

Are we gonna hype up the Philadelphia Eagles for leading the NFC East as well?

I'm not a hater and I never would have fired the guy for essentially giving is what Pitt is. A program with an over /under of 7.5.

Now, most on here I think expect Pitt to be a program at over /under 9.

So, if you are Heather, do you fire the guy, buy out his years and then hire a new staff with no guarantee that 9 wins is reachable? With dollars from the fan base limited?

For me, the answer is no, and it takes all of 15 seconds to come to this conclusion.

Now, some movement among the assistants? Sure. But that isn't the question asked by the OP

You want me to believe Coastal Carolina is the 16th best team in the Country and could beat PITT?

I want to see Pitt step up and be a 8-9 win team rather than a 7-8 win team in an average year. It may only be a game, but in terms of prestige and competing for conference titles, an extra win a year goes a long way, especially if you win the bowl game.
