To those who claim pitt is spending money

People don't want to accept how poor our recruiting is. I mentioned 53rd so far with 1 measly 4 star recruit and people want to defend this. No excuse.

Wasn't Narduzzi supposed to bring in better players?

When is the head coach gonna take blame for a bad 2017 recruiting class? I didn't realize that a class ranked in the 50's was going to turn the program around.

So then maybe you can enlighten me as to whom on the 4 star and above level Pitt is still going after.

I'd love to know.

Here's the difference. I'm wise enough to realize I don't know what I don't know. And I don't declare anything until actual results are in.

You on the other hand are a juvenile who throws temper tantrums and declares failure before anything is final.

You're going to eat these words poker and I'm the one that's going remember this.
I would LOVE to eat those words. I want better recruiting classes. Right now our class sucks. Hope it gets much better but not optimistic about it.

We spend about 9th in the ACC, won't cut it. I will say we were next to last for a few years, so improvement is being made, have much further to go

And investing in football.

Prove it.

This staff is a bunch of cast offs lead by a coach learning on the job.
Perhaps you should clarify your post to ask people to prove that Pitt is spending more under this administration than the previous one.
I seem to recall you telling the yinzers that Pitt spent plenty under Nordy and Pederson.

Souf - not sure where this is coming from. Pitt IS spending more. What exactly would you like to see that is in our universe right now?

Now compared to what Nerdy and Pedey spent , well we definitely upgraded on that , so it's a start

You cant spend what you don't get, TD. If you have some plan to increase donations to the Athletic Department, I'm all ears.

4 and 5 star recruits are tripping over themselves to play in an electric environment like the one we had tonight.

So what do you suggest? We fire Narduzzi and go after Les Miles?

Look at Michigan State. When Dantonio got there, they were still pretty rough the first couple years. They just went to the College Football Playoffs.

I'd save judgement for when the season is over instead of being negative based on a couple weeks of performance, especially with the results we saw last year. We will be fine.

I'm with you on this thread, PG.

I'm not sure I understand Soufs point on the first post at all. The current Admin is investing in football the best that they can, just as the past Admin was.

And to your reply to TD_Is, it is SO important to state that with the ACC revenue addition, the current admin subsidizes athletics LESS than the Nordenberg admin.

And in accordance with what you are saying, we remain last in the ACC, and among the bottom five of all P-5 conference teams in donations.

Pitt subsidizes athletics, more than many of our competitors "need to."

These are the facts of this situation.

I think that is his point.
He's mocking/baiting those who always bitched about Nordy and Pedersen, that they weren't committed to winning and won't spend the money to Win. That Gallagher and Barnes are.

Now what exactly prompted him to decide to do this at this moment is another question.

I don't understand why people even reply to such Assinine post. Outside the OP who is expressing some disappointment. We had 4 star dbs Hamlin, Miller (some sites) and hill. The later had a heart issue and the first two just came to college a month before the season.
Not sure how that had anything to do with spending money? We were top 30 in recruiting. Coaches flew around everywhere in private jets and were constantly on the road. Our facilities are 1000 percent better and I was in then before... It sucked. We clearly are in more battles for national guys which will always be harder pulls. And our local guys like God Jeter are head cases. No one is going to tell me money from the admin would have made Jeter go to Pitt. We just had rookie of year Aaron Donald play the same style, and a defensive minded coach.

Anyways, the dissenting opinions are the same buffoons that dissent against EVERYTHING that Pitt does. Literally everything, there was no happiness about us winning, in fact they were upset we scored instead of downing the ball at the one so later they can say we barely won. Seriously, I may just start putting people on ignore. It's so clear they are trolls

Watching poor coaching nearly blow another game.

I mean.. Folks here make those judgements based on only results.. So it only seems fair.

Watching poor DB's struggle in coverage....oh and Pitt won.

Your schtick is tiresome. Smilin Steve isn't coming back. Folks like you are why Barnes said ignore the "noise"

Yes, but its better to have a class like Rutgers or Maryland (WTF) and try to hang onto it to be sitting where Pitt is right now.......and you know it.
True. But we don't, you still can't bitch until the class is complete. AFter LOI day if this class is below 40 I will join you in complaining. Last year's class wasn't any better at this point and they finished with a pretty good class, combine 4 of those classes like last year and if their is balance(not all on D) you will have plenty of talent. Look I have some doubts about PN and the admin ever really spending money, but you have to let it play out. If PN has success and they don't pay him, then we know nothing's changed.

Well, the big donors were asked to step it up and many have. Maybe the ordinary donor needs to step it up a little more to give them more to spend, if this is the barometer of the program. Not saying that you break the bank, but maybe an extra $100. I'm am willing to bet that many pay the minimal amount to PC for reserving their seat and nothing more. That along with the ACC money, should give them money to spend.

They struggle being put on an island.
That's a scheme issue.
Glad we won and don't care one bit about Steve.

But the staggering lack of consistency from the mouth breathers is amusing.

I'd go a step further and say that the issue isn't those who already donate to the PC (although everyone giving a bit more would help), it's obviously those who donate nothing.

Until that group becomes invested enough to start giving, Pitt will alway be at or close to the bottom of the ACC in donations. Unfortunately it's a much bigger problem than success on the field or hardwood - it truly is cultural. I don't envy our Athletic Department. Make one mis-step and the yinzers throw up their hands and whine which I find funny because if you don't donate, you don't really have the right to complain. Vicious cycle.

If Pitt doubled its foitball donations, what would they do differently?
