As new faces get to know the old ones and vice versa, the Pitt men's basketball team doesn't believe its offseason additions are stop-gap solutions to plug some holes on a depleted roster.
Instead, the Panthers think an injection of newcomers - especially those with some college basketball experience - can help take them where they want to go this season.
"I guess you look at the college landscape and see the majority of older teams are the ones that are playing late and winning championships so it was definitely good to see some older guys come join us," senior point guard James Robinson said Friday at Pitt's Media Day. "But we've still got guys that are underclassmen, and a lot of juniors, that have a lot of experience that are really going to play a big role in our team success this year, too."
