Jon Neskow - the bouncer who supposedly got into it with Porter is a WV Grad and big Baltimore fan. I wonder if he is trying to stir the pot intentionally.

Who knows but did you see the latest? Apparently Porter told that guy last time (sounds like there was a previous dust up) he would kill him which is why he was denied entry. And Porter got a little physical with the cop so he's effed and should be.

I agree - Porter should know better, but the other bouncer said it was blown out of proportion. Maybe this bouncer is the one instigating it. It would not be the first time a bouncer had an ego, and is trying to prove something.

That's certainly true. But there are tons of places to go on the South Side. I'm sure Porter's ego fueled by whatever he ingested prevented him from just going somewhere else.

It's a good possibility both of these guys are enormous asswipes.

didn't let him in because porter threatened to kill him last time he was at the place.. LOL, dude knows how to hold a grudge..

How old do you need to be before you finally grow the hell up? Porter is 39 years old. And this isn't his first time being in trouble.

Billy Martin was 51 when he got in a fight with a marshmallow salesman. Six years later he got in.a fight with one of his own players. I doubt he ever grew the hell up.

Obviously, like everyone else, I wasn't there and I have no idea what happened? However, Porter needs to walk away there.

He had something to lose here and there's nothing to be gained by muscling your way in.

There's almost no question that this was blown out of proportion and this bouncer was acting like a douche as well.

However, so too likely was Porter. We basically had two alpha males trying to exert their will. It makes no sense for Porter to get involved in this.

This incident seems to have been blown out of proportion. That being said there was an incident and that was on Porter for...
A. being there at that time in the first place

B. Letting himself get into a mouth battle with a guy who may or may not have an agenda.

C. Keep popping off when an officer of the law shows up.

The man is in his 40s and is a high profile character. heed needs to go the hell home at a decent hour to avoid these kinds of things.

Lay your hands on a cop and let me know if it's no big deal.
Anyone else, sure. But we know the score here. This is like a member of the royal family causing havoc on the streets of London. It's honestly a surprise he did get busted. And it's likely only because he's a mere coach now that he was. When he was Joey Porter, all pro LB, a week before a playoff game, there would have been no arrest (and certainly no news coverage of it).

That is not the case anymore. Some [not all] cops go out of their way to make a name for themselves now.

I know many Pittsburgh cops. Almost all are Pittsburgh sports fans and huge Steelers fans. The cop in question is a good guy from all that I've talked to. I know the stereotypes of cops and having an agenda but thats not the case. The cops in this area would need to have a good reason to arrest a Pittsburgh athlete/coach, especially a Steeler.

I'm surprised the Steelers took a chance on him given all the baggage from his past. In Las Vegas alone he had the well publicized brawl with the Bengals player at the Palms, then just a couple years ago he was arrested for writing a bad check to pay off a casino debt. Guy has a reputation for playing craps for high stakes then not wanting to pay off his markers.

I'm dissapointed Porter didn't whoop that guy's ass by the time the cop got there. Joey's the man and that bouncer needs to know his role.

Wow

Wow!!! That's interesting....and you know this, how personal experience???
So there is no hot dog cops? That is also interesting. Like I said in another post, the vast majority of cops are great. But not all

WTF was he doing out partying on the South Side. They have more games to play and he is no longer a player. Just asking for trouble.

"Hot Dog Cops". .. thats funny!! Police officers (at all levels) I know and socialize with would have a short chuckle with that comment. In the final analysis IMHO do "Police" themselves (weed out the knuckleheads). Some do sneak thru the cracks

Rooney::pittsburgh : Paterno::State College.

If Porter wants to go out on the town after a game, he should surround himself with dependable guys who act as buffers in these kinds of situations. Otherwise, stick to private gatherings away from the Southside.

Porter as a coach now needs to tone it way down. But when I heard the story, I knew right away the bouncer obviously hated the steelers for some reason. Just think about Pittsburgh, and read what the kid said happened when porter was there before. What steeler fan would ever end up in that situation if a former player (now coach) like porter came into a south side bar?

Again, porter definitely can't be acting like that as a coach. But you know that bouncer immediately became the most unpopular person in Pittsburgh, right or wrong. Nobody that doesn't hate the steelers already would think that was worth it.

So, a couple of Pitt football players are starting a #boycott the flats thing on twitter stating that the flats does not want black people in there. I wonder how that is gonna go over...
