Pitt beats PSU. Win keeps PSU out of the College Football Playoffs 42-39.
Penn State is playing Pitt next year right? Are you conceding that one since it's not on your field? I've seen some predictions here that Pitt will go 10 - 2 next season. So if PSU wins that game, will that be considered a good win by you? As to Houston, who played in the B1G Championship game, he split time with Hornibrook all season. Wasn't some cold bench warmer.
How would PSU beating PITT in St College constitute a quality road win for PSU?
I watched most of the PSU / Wiscy game and that QB for Wiscy was terrible. He had no arm strength over 15 or so yards. That was also a neutral field. Wake me up with PSU beats a quality opponent at the opponents field! Beating a quality team at their field is a reasonable benchmark for how good your team is.

Just trying to understand what 9nationalchampionships considers a quality win. Not all of them are on the road. Kind of silly.
It doesn't, but it would still be a quality win. Are you diminishing Pitt's win this season because it was in Pittsburgh. You play the game where it's played. That's why they alternate each year.
I agree beating a quality team ANYWHERE is important but my point is that PSU has not beaten a quality opponent on the opponent's field in a very long time. Winning at the other team's field is harder to do, therefore it carries more weight!
Howie, you're welcome on our board, and have been reasonable over time, but you think 'Pitt fans are terrible people is like saying the sun is bright' (your post on BWI). That is not reasonable and is an outright vile stereotype. Do you really think that Pitt fans are terrible people, or are you just patronizing the crazies on BWI? Pitt fans are like others, some are extreme and irrational, but most are good, and reasonable people. Just because some on your board are arrogant, rude, and vicious (and you know who they are by reading their posts!), do you think all PSU fans are like that? Since you have posted on this board at times, I hope you will take time out to answer.
Don't kid yourself....... PSU fans call PITT fans terrible because we will not the atrocities that happened there be swept and until the court cases are final it is not over. PSU fans continue to troll the PITT board but as soon as a PITT fan says anything on their board we are "terrible" people. If PITT administrators would have allowed the same crimes from one of our coaches they would do the same thing.
In the end, both fan bases are pretty close to each other outside of the worshipping a coach who did a lot of good but that doesn't make up for the BIG sin of not reporting the crimes. Maybe due to PITT being in a large city and having enough objective reporters, maybe due to football not driving the school's agenda, etc.

Hell I got banned over at BWI and never posted a thing. Just liked a few posts. Good thing the North Korean information ministry doesn't moderate our board.
Why would their players say anything about the playoffs? They were not one of the 4 teams in it, nor did they deserve to be in it.
