Urban Meyer sounding like SMF on NIL

Not sure I can be more clear.

1. I think the NCAA should either enforce their own rules or make pay for play legal

2. As long as they arent enforcing the rules, Pitt should do pay for play. And we do.
The NCAA doesn't have the authority to make any rules regarding enforcement of NIL rules because the courts have already determined they can't. You or Urban Myer worrying over it is stupid because nobody involves cares.

And you sort of missed the point of the article. Urbs isn't mad that NIL is legal. He's mad that the schemes he used to cheat are no longer an advantage.

Incorrect, my friend. The courts have said real, actual NIL is legal. A car dealership paying you to make an appearance. That is legal. Those are legit marketing deals. A bunch of fans pooling their money together is pay for play. The NCAA has rules against pay for play. The collectives may call it NIL but its not. Its pay for play.

You never addressed his point of whether pay-for-play is legal and whether the NCAA can enforce it. In fact, now you seem to be arguing against your own earlier post that the NCAA would lose in court.

He wants to hang on a technicality because he knows he's just blowing smoke. The way college football works has changed and it ain't changing back.

It is not a crime for a booster group to pay a player to play for their team. But it IS against NCAA rules. Just because its not a crime, doesn't mean they cant have a rule against it. Heck, Alabama can flat out make their QB an employee and pay him $10 million. That isnt a crime. No one is going to jail for that. But its against NCAA rules

Yet you believe that the NCAA won't enforce its rule because they would lose in court. Which point do want to stick with today?
