USA vs Mexico! Incredible

If that turns out to be true, good god, these people running US soccer are even dumber than I thought.

And I didn't think that was possible.
Utter incompetence with this federation. With the young talent of the national team, they should be able to get almost...I say almost...anyone they want. Yet they circled back to this Derp. All of this time and this is the end result.

Then Charlie Davies just making no sense by saying USSF doesn't have unlimited funding. Bullcrap, this is an extremely wealthy federation. Money should not even be an issue.

It’s funny that he used Mourinho as an example because all along I’ve been hearing that there’s simply no way we can afford a guy like that.

Who knows with Jose and his wage demands. Regardless, this federation can and could afford just about anyone they wanted to captain this ship.

I think the point is guys like Jose.

Give me Roy effing Hodgson over Derp. I don’t care. Lol.

This guy is a chelsea and Pulisic homer, but I usually agree with him and do with this take.

I love me some Woy Hodgson. Club legend as the gaffer.
I have always liked him too. But wasn’t he the England manager with Gerrard, Rooney, Lampard, Terry, Cole, etc…and USA won the group in the World Cup in 2010?

No, but he was the England manager when they finished last in their group in 2014 and were eliminated by Iceland in Euro 2016

Shame. The way Weston is playing, that’s a big loss in the final vs Canada.

Turner is terrible with his feet right now, been shaky all night. He needs to go out on loan this next season to stay sharp with this stuff.

They really should just kick all the mexican fans out of the stadium right now.

This game is easily going to be 110 minutes.

And this is why this game should not have been 10pm on a streaming service.

This referee has gotten progressively worse as the game has gone on.

All CONCACAF referees let obvious cardable shit go early so that they have no choice but to be conspicuously awful when things boil over.

It’s all their own doing. They’re embarrassingly bad and are incompetent when it comes to managing a game. It’s literally CONCACAF’s brand globally. Hard fouls with awful referees.

So the morning after US-MX

overall the team played fantastic. So many bright spots. I think Dest was so bright last night, the best I've seen him with the National Team. CP was...like he had been a consistent 90 minute guy for Chelsea, so very sharp he was.

I thought Reyna was very calm and controlled in the midfield and Musah, not flashy, but was a rock in Ty Adam's spot.

Overall anytime you can be the Mexicans, it's a great day, but that was domination. No way their coach makes it past Sunday. I think Mexico will not make the same mistake they did with keeping Tata as long as they did.

Ya I have a feeling their coach isn't long for the job. They're not afraid to fire coaches and he's not as big a name as Tata was.

It was a real ass beating. It was exciting to see Reyna starting with all those guys. Makes you wonder what Derp would have done. Reyna is funny. He’s a big kid but when he’s in the open field he looks like a clumsy baby giraffe running with an odd gait.

Balogun was non existent and that was expected. Sadly he did one thing great and was the catalyst for all the extracurricular stuff that happened. One thing I love seeing is when players track back and win a ball…and when he did that and drew the red card, I thought it was Musah. More impressive that is was our young #9 doing that. Sadly it caused Mexico to go off the rails.

Dest was awful vs Holland and was brilliant last night. Everyone was really. This is why I say that I think we are deeper right now than Mexico. When we are bringing off players but bringing in Aaronson, Scally, Zimmerman and Pepi late…that’s solid depth. But our “stars” are in limbo. Dest, Pulisic, Reyna, McKennie and Aaronson all have huge question marks around them on the club level. But they were dominant last night. Tim Weah was too much for them too. Musah has some uncertainty too but that’s in a good way as he may be in position to move to a bigger club.

I don’t know what to think about CP10. He needs to play where he is expected to be a leader and go out and play on every match day. If that’s in Italy, then go for it. He needs consistent minutes. All players do. But he may also need to know he’s counted on and appreciated as a leader and central figure. I think he’s better than Sterling right now because Sterling is passed his prime and I was never a huge fan. And I think Christian is better than Mudryk who Chelsea brought in from Ukraine. But it doesn’t seem like Chelsea is a place where he will be the guy. But holy cow, he showed the pace that I haven’t seen since the FA Cup final vs Arsenal three years ago when he got hurt.

Will Scally replace Dest on Sunday? That could be a good thing to see. And I Am considered about the midfield now vs Canada. Not sure we have a Scally type replacement there.
