As stated previously texas lost to kansas so if pitt wins both, they should move up one.

At some point we may very well run into our ceiling in the rankings. We just aren't getting any high level wins right now (which isn't our fault, that's just the way the conference cookie has crumbled this year), and at some point voters are going to wonder if they should keep moving us up above teams that may have lost a game but who also have a lot more top wins than us. For instance Texas has four losses. Two of them are to number two Stanford. One was to number eight Wisconsin. And this week's loss to 12-4 Kansas. They have top 25 wins over Oregon, Kentucky and Baylor. And we are not one of the traditional powers of the game. At some point some number of voters are going to look at our resume and say, that's it, I can't put them any higher than that. Just like happens to teams like UCF and before that Boise State in football.

I get what you are saying however look at byus opponents. Their schedule doesnt look much different than pitts. They do play 7 games more in the rpi range of 1-50 but we play many more in the 50-100. Now compare to stanfords and illinois.... pitts and byu sos seem almost soft as compared to those two schools. Wonder if pitt will try and get a couple higher end schools on the schedule for next year?

But BYU has also played and beaten Stanford, who is far better than anyone we have beaten.

I think that will happen soon. However, I am not too concerned about that. We have put ourselves in a great position to host the first round and that is all that really matters. The only thing that worries me is that they really haven't been tested and surely will once they get to the sweet 16. Next year they really need to schedule some OOC games against the upper echelon teams. This team has the talent to do so and will be a top 10 preseason ranked team next year.

I watched NC State win against Virginia. By comparison, the Wolfpack seems to set up one player for the kill whereas Pitt seems to spread their attack across their entire front line of spikers. Pitt should win handily on Sunday.
