Virginia game

I honestly think, and I hate to say this cause you guys make to much of perception, the uva game is just as important to keep the momentum of pitt football going in the ‘casual fan’ world.

A loss out of the gate won’t be the end all. Especially in coastal where the winner will have at least two conference losses. What it will do is give the old adage of ‘same Old pitt’ to the Pittsburgh sporting world.

Flip side is, a win, a respectable win and yinzer nation will start to pay attention and possibly jump on the band wagon.

Not sure that's an assumption. I think a lot of Pitt fans are just being realistic, though. If you think that's wrong, something more tangible than your assumptions are welcome.
Assuming a loss is no more realistic than not assuming a loss. No where did I say Pitt will definitely win. If you are assuming a loss so be it.

ND first wanny game.

FSU first game in ACC.

I think the UVA game is huge this year but I am not quite sure it's our biggest opener. It might be, but I dont know how you quantify it until after the fact.

I agree with ND, because Pitt was coming off an 8-4 season, Fiesta Bowl, ranked, 17 returning starters, so it was supposed to kick off a great year. College Gameday

But FSU, not so much. Most of us knew the eventually fate

Keith Jackson came to broadcast the ND game, that's how you knew it was big. He was pretty much retired at that point but would do a few really big games. Of course Wanny laid a massive egg.

We had NO DLine that year - completely outmatched in the trenches vs ND.. Wanny kept it interesting for as long as he could.
