OK, enough with all the mass gun murders the past 2 weeks, lets talk football:

VTech

- Has a serviceable QB, accurate, tough, nothing awesome though
- Very good WRs, strength of the offense. We will need to be tough here, hope we dont get beat in this area too frequently
- Oline is very good, solid and healthy. Our line has been improving and this game will be a good metric to see how much we have improved on the Dline.

- Defensively Vtech is banged up on the Dline. We should be able to exploit here. Obviously VT will know this, and load the LBs up on the line to help.
- LB is the strength there, deep unit, due to injuries they had a lot of new guy playing and playing well. Also, most likely will have guys back from injury.
- DB... well... who cares, we cant pass anyways.

Certainly VT is going to put 8 or 9 in the box and try to stop us, no question. Can we still have success with this? That will be the key to the game.

We also know they will test our secondary often. Keep the bend and not break D going?? Hold to FG attempts, and we win also.

Big game, cant wait for it. For some reason VT really hates Pitt. I know we dont feel the same, but they do really hate us. Will be a good game like it always is against them, and hope our guys are one step faster than last year (Ugh... needed one freaking more yard)

Pitt 30 - Virginina Tech 27.

We know what Narduzzi's defense will do. We know what Bud Foster's defense will do. Especially against a two back oriented team. It's a major gut check for two somewhat maligned defensive lines. I don't think Pickett gets his first 200 yard passing game this year, but I dont think he'll need to. They do a good job taking care of the ball, which is how they have won a few games with mediocre stats, we need to do the same. Can't afford a pick six.

Remember, Georgia Tech ran for 465 against VT and 0 yards passing. They won 49-28.

that would be the chilled mammary that I was clinging to in 1977 as Elliot Walker was being screwed out of a two point conversion to tie Penn State because of a snow covered goal line....revisionist weather history put the wind chill at zero...I'm pretty sure the actual John Wayne real man temperature was in the upper teens...I was a dumbass twelve year old who drank his two thermoses of hot cocoa on the bus trip down (they would actually let you take it in back in the day)...

I was watcjing the Stiller game last night wondering when the last time Pitt mashed a good team. I recall pummeling a good USF team with Graham running wild and a huge win in the Carrier Dome about 20 years ago. Thats it. Tomorrow it happens again. 45-20 Pitt.

This will sound simplistic, but we just can't fall behind, at least not more than two scores, and especially in the second half. Just can't afford to be forced to rely on throwing more than a minimal number of times.

If we can get a lead, or stay within a score and get the ball with at least 3-4 minutes left to win or tie, i'd feel confident.

I know we dont feel the same..You should. Number two on my schitt list after you know who... Deceitful behavior in the way the left the Big East...I am an elephant in this regard.

More likely the games when we knocked them off as underdogs. While we have not dominated them, we certainly play them tough most years.

I've known and worked with a fair number of VPI fans and don't remember any of them hating Pitt.

I work with a bunch now and they actually like Pitt except this week. I think they are more annoyed that we have gotten the better of them but the 3 I work closely with now all said good luck before I left today so not sure there is much hate. They were really happy we beat UVa I know that.

Never an ounce of enmity on my part to VT. And I've not noticed any from them either. I've been at VT for multiple games, tailgates among their fans, never a negative moment. In full Pitt regalia as well. Nobody hassled me a bit.
