Obviously, Carter's breakout game last year was against Duke and they've been preparing for him all week. If I was Whipple I would look at what Pitt did last year with him and have him running in motion and faking sweeps to him all game. Duke's defense is definitely better than last year. I would just make those linebackers have their eyes going every which way and help loosen up the run up the middle.

they load up the box and do press man coverage, according to Bostick today on radio. not sure how athletic they are on the edge, maybe we can hit some sweeps on them..

think it's gonna be up to KP and our two WRs to make some plays..

I agree. But I think Cutcliffe is a good enough coach to make Pitt beat them a different way. I'm interested to see what Pitt's defense does this year. I'm hoping Pitt can get the run game going.

I agree, and if I were Whipple I'd do what you suggested. However, Carter has
done very little this year, and I have to believe that's because our opposition
has seen last year's Duke game and have adjusted (successfully I might add),
and basically stopped Carter. I remember the same happening last year after
Carter's breakout game.
Now, as I said I agree with your suggestion....if you and I see it this way, you can
bet Duke's coaches have seen the same thing. It'll be interesting to see how
Whipple uses him. If the "middle loosens up" as you pointed out....THAT would
be a first for this year's offense.

I'm no football mind, but I'd like to see V'Lique/SJL get, between them, 5-7 designed plays for them. Jet sweeps, swing passes, etc.
I know V'Lique caught a TD last game and I'm all for him lining more in the slot and out wide as a WR. Whether it's a decoy or to actually catch the ball, dude's a playmaker.

I want to see him get the ball. Sometimes players just play well against certain teams. Maybe he's Duke's krypronite.... I want to find out.

Probably would've been nice for V'Lique to play against UNC and ND when the offense went stagnant. Only took 8 games ha.

Carter had that great game because Hall and Ollison were in the house and he was their alter ego.

This year Carter has been a nothing so Duke wont waste a lot of time preparing for him so I would let Carter do what he does best like what he did last year.
It'll surprise Duke.
