Hmm. I wonder if Larry Fitzgerald played for PoSU if he would have voted for him for Heisman?

Sorry, when I think of enema bag Ron Cook, that all I can think of.

Mr. Paterno: Yes, a man by the name of Jerry Sandusky who had been one of our coaches, was not at the time.

Q: You’re saying that at the time this incident was reported to you, Sandusky was no longer a coach?
Mr. Paterno: No, he had retired voluntarily. I’m not sure exactly the year, but I think it was either ‘98 or ‘99.

Q: I think you used the term fondling. Is that the term that you used?

Mr. Paterno: Well, I don’t know what you would call it. Obviously, he was doing something with the youngster.

It was a sexual nature. I’m not sure exactly what it was.

I didn’t push Mike to describe exactly what it was because he was very upset. Obviously, I was in a little bit of a dilemma since Mr. Sandusky was not working for me anymore.

So I told — I didn’t go any further than that except I knew Mike was upset and I knew some kind of inappropriate action was being taken by Jerry Sandusky with a youngster.

Q: Did Mike McQueary tell you where he had seen this inappropriate conduct take place?

Mr. Paterno: In the shower.

Q: Where was the shower?

Mr. Paterno: In the Lasch Building.

Q: Is that on the campus of Penn State University?

Mr. Paterno: It’s right on the campus.

Q: Did you tell Mike McQueary at that time what you were going to do with that information that he had provided to you?

Mr. Paterno: I don’t know whether I was specific or not. I did tell Mike, Mike, you did what was right; you told me.

Even though Jerry does not work for the football staff any longer, I would refer his concerns to the right people

Q: When did you — did you do something with that information?

Mr. Paterno: Well, I can’t be precise.

I ordinarily would have called people right away, but it was a Saturday morning and I didn’t want to interfere with their weekends.

So I don’t know whether I did it Saturday or did it early the next week.

Q: Other than the incident that Mike McQueary reported to you, do you know in any way, through rumor, direct knowledge or any other fashion, of any other inappropriate sexual conduct by Jerry Sandusky with young boys?

Mr. Paterno: I do not know of anything else that Jerry would be involved in of that nature, no. I do not know of it.

"After giving it more thought and talking it over with Joe yesterday, I am uncomfortable with what we agreed were the next steps. I am having trouble with going to everyone but the person involved. I would be more comfortable meeting with the person and tell them about the information we received and tell them we are aware of the first situation," Curley's email said, according to CNN.

"PMA claims ... in 1976, a child allegedly reported to PSU's Head Football Coach Joseph Paterno, that he (the child) was sexually molested by Sandusky," the judge writes in the order.

Ron Cook decides he is going to completely ignore all of the evidence that piled up that horrible things were going on in the Penn State football program so he can preserve the Joe Paterno legacy. It's pretty clear Ron looked up to Joe and decided to copy Joe's actions with this article.

I feel bad for Ron, this article is laughably bad, even for him. I know when Myron was slipping at the end of his career, he had a friend tell him it was time to move on. I hope Ron Cook has a similar friend.

After Pitt beats Penn State on 9/10/16, Cook may come out with an article about how sad it was that he saw some Pitt fans wearing a "Joe Knew" shirt.

Ignore the game results but talk about the shirts.

Oh wait. I think I may have given Ron the inspiration for his Pitt-Penn State article.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

That's nice of Saint Joe not to interrupt people's weekends for something as minor as child rape.

Well, that I can understand. Who wants to believe that their spouse and parent of their child could be evil? Even Eva Braun thought Hitler was a sweetheart. But Ron Cook's obsession is something totally unfathomable. JoePa did nothing for Cook that warrants this kind of whack job loyalty.

Disagree. Perhaps joe looked the other way when Ron came and visited state college????? If you get my drift.....

This dialogue needs to be scrolling on one of the jumbotrons for the duration of the game next Saturday. What a sick fvck to "not want to disrupt peoples weekend" over something as trivial, as ya know, child molestation...Joe is burning in hell

Cook was honest (in the article) that he thought Paterno had no superiors at PSU and that he was morally obligated to do more than he did.

He said he didn't believe the newest round of "allegations" and cites the exchange that was cited in released court documents about telling the kid he had a football season to prepare for. That's where the "Joe I knew" statement came from.

His basic premise is the same tired argument as always; Paterno's 409 wins is a separate matter from the morally repugnant lapse in judgment and can be easily looked at differently by otherwise intelligent human beings. In other words, we is all just a bunch of stupid hater yinzers, n'at.

If Ron cook had a friend, which he probably doesn't, he should have told him to move on after his first column.

You cannot separate the two. This is why Germany doesn't celebrate Hitler whenever they upgrade the autobahn. Sure he killed 6 million Jews but hey, he built a great highway! Being a good coach does not outweigh hiding a pedophile for thirty years for the sake of your football program.

Ron seems like he sucks. I'll wait for Doyel and Bernstein's columns. They're going to go balls deep on Ped Stste and the cult.

At least Cook didn't refer to Paterno as "the great Paterno" as he used to in all his "I worship Paterno" articles... That used to make me sick; but people like Cook bought the act that Paterno was selling and he still can't see past it.

Cook is an example, as is the current presidential election, that intelligence often loses out to concepts that were ingrained into our brains during our youthful years.

Go Pitt.
