So I’m not a cap expert -
But after June 1st the dead cap hit for next season is half for Minkah and Watt.
Time to move them

Heyward should retire? Why, exactly? He was 1st team all pro ffs. Now I get he could fall off a cliff at his age but many had their tits is a twist when he was resigned and he had a great year.
HE HIRED THEM. Just like he has a big say in drafting players. This is HIS team.I’m curious, who were the competent coordinators he had over the years? I’m having a hard time coming up with any.
Flores wasn’t a coordinator and he doesn’t count anyway, everyone knew he’d only be here short-term until he got out of NFL coaching purgatory and someone offered him another go at it.
So I still don’t know the answer, who were the ‘good’ coordinators that he got rid of? Too long ago for me to remember, was Lebeau still the DC when Tomlin took over and didn’t he eventually just retire, Tomlin didn’t can him. Or did he leave the Steelers and go to the Bengals briefly before retiring? The ones left over from Cowher. Note the results as time goes on.
Yeah Arians was by far his best OC. He inherited Dick Lebeau. DL was 77 when the parties mutually agreed to separate. He ended up in Cinci for a bit. So in fairness the only one he got rid of was BASo I still don’t know the answer, who were the ‘good’ coordinators that he got rid of? A good OC that he canned, I guess the retired/not retired Bruce Arians is the only one I could think of.
At any rate, I figured Tomlin’s biggest problem was not being able to identify good coordinators to hire in the first place, not canning ones that were good.
