We get a peek at Georgia Tech

They replace a lot on offense.

I'd love to see HCPJ leave GT. Can't stand watching that option attack.

At some point during this game, posters will be pointing out how GT is not very good. Because this is what happens on this board.

GT doing what they do best; running the clock and frustrating their opponent. Their QB is going to be a handful.

Tennessee not looking good in first half offensively.

Agree they look mediocre and look like an 8-4 or 7-5 team at best. There new QB doesn't look to be having any better game than Browne did the other day. Both my teams seemed destined for mediocre seasons.

GT is well coached, but they get away with a lot of questionable blocking.

They will be a handful for us.

Will Marshall make it to week 4? He took a beating tonight and can't continue to do that weekly.

that is the Wannstedt/Tomlin school of coaching and run them till the wheels fall off. At this rate he won't make it.

We may not be able to stop tech but the good thing is they don't seem able to stop very well either.

I don't know but they just ran for 550 yards against a defense that has way more talent on it than ours does. That's scary.

I remember when AD was here we shut that option down. he had a monster game, probably his best performance of many great performances. Our bunch of newbie front 7 guys are gonna get an education in that game. Hope the O can score a whole bunch of points.

GT let that one get away. Missed two short FG. Turned it over when driving for a TD to go up two scores late in the 4th. GT may be a tough out for quite a few teams this season.

Outplayed UT all night but pissed away the game on that fumble.

The one missed FG was a 47 yarder, so that's a 50-50 at best even for a good college kicker, impossible for a bad one like GTs.

GT does look like they may be tougher. We have beaten them 2 straight... but on last minute field goals, and you gotta think maybe they're due.

On the flip side, UNC looks worse and we definitely have to be due for a W against them.

Fumbles happen. Not always 100% preventable.

Should GT have gone for 2 pt conversion or kicked extra point and gone to 3rd OT?

That fumble was 100% preventable and never should have happened. It also came on a huge gain by GT, one that would have set them up for another TD. The ball carrier had such a loose hold on the ball, all the chasing defender did to get it loose was touch it. That's just careless play, the kind of stuff skill RBs and WRs get drilled on in practice every day.

Take a look at the stats. GT 655 yards, UT 365. Look at first downs, TOP, etc. GT dominated the Vols.

As for your question--tough one. I respect Johnson;s decision, but if I was a GT fan, I'd be bumming that they didn't just kick the XP.

I believe I thought you were referring to an earlier fumble. I didn't watch the remainder of the game after GT was up 28-14 early in the 4th. Got too late the night before a work day.

GT QB went out of game with arm/shoulder injury in 4th quarter. Can't tell how serious.

Backup doesn't look nearly as dangerous
what game were you watching titleman? The QB was the whole team, the defense was the thing that sucked. Cut blocking is legal and is what makes that system work. I hate when we play against it though.

Agree that the GT QB is really good at running the option game. Very quick and elusive. He's going to run all over Pitt -- if he stays healthy. That is a question though because he's not very big and sometimes when he was tackled he was thrown to the ground like a rag-doll. It's sort of like Q. Henderson playing QB...

I doubt the GT QB makes it through the season, but unfortunately we all know that he'll play the whole damn game against Pitt...

Go Pitt.

Georgia Tech played well but they have a distinct advantage against teams that don't play them very often.
The triple option is a rare offense these days as well as the barrage of cut blocks makes it difficult to prepare for until you experience it.

Great game! GT looks much better than I expected. Having said that, preparing for the T option is very hard since it is rarely used anymore. I liked how Tennessee D lined up a 1-2 yards off the line of scrimmage to lessen the cut blocks. The GT QB is the real deal.

The GT QB is talented no doubt. But if Paul continues running him that many times per game, he is going to get hurt. Worse than him coming out of the game last night.

all those rushing yards after kicking their returning leading rusher off the team. not to shabby.

What's the deal with the garbage can? That was tacky as hell.

He is their 2nd QB. Their #1 was lost for the season even started. So it was #3 who didn't look so good in Q4?
