We have some incredibly stupid coaches

It's kind of shocking. I'm just going off memory here, but...

You come out off the turnover with good field position and hand off twice info a brick wall. I mean Veilleux sucks so shame on him for throwing 4 yards to a smothered target on 3rd and 9 (common theme with this jamoche).

You call a timeout to ice the kicker on a chip shot but then try to score with 30 seconds left in the first half? If you knew you weren't going to just down it, ya think that timeout might have came in handy? That was a chip shot.

FSU's first TD... coming off a Pitt timeout, we had ten guys on the field and tried doing a one for two substitution... two d linemen running on the field didn't get a chance to get set when they snapped it. How does that happen?!

All the timeouts this idiots burns, and some idiot in 220 (me) noticed the man uncovered, as a result of presnap confusion, when it was 10-7. We couldn't call a timeout there? We let Travis have a free touchdown.

When we're finally getting a push in the 3rd quarter and running the ball, frosty nuts starts airing it out. We were winning in the trenches as that point.

Some of the personnel decisions have lowered my IQ significantly to witness.

Of course they were going to down it before half. But after Carter rips off a 20 yard run to put the ball at midfield, is it really so dumb to have a change of plans?

Unfortunately, this is another game where our offense cost us. I’m still kind of perplexed that they didn’t try Yarnell at any point.

Don't know why you guys are surprised he punted, the moron did the same thing a couple times this season.

Don’t forget punting on 4th and 3 with just over 6 minutes left. Not only dumb, but gutless.

I had already left by then, but when we were down 17 at the beginning of the 4th and going into lengthy huddles... yeah, we weren't even trying to win. Narduzzi was playing to mitigate the damage. Loser mentality.

I called the bizarre “running of the clock” in real time

It made zero sense whatsoever

Weird, cause he's done it multiple time this season. You jumped the shark with your ball washing contrarian angle. It's really beginning to lead to some dumb arguments.
Not doing any ball washing. Just not being overly critical of everything.

But It's not like running the no huddle would have been productive with a one-trick pony QB that can only throw it deep. He's had 4 starts. Time to move on isn't it?

Dude you really think they should make a judgment on a young QB after 4 starts? If so, that is the most idiotic thought ever.

All I hear and see from the boards is, the OC is terrible, the Oline sucks, WRs suck RBs sucks. So what would you then expect from a QB who has started 4 gamea?

😂 You're preaching to the choir. My reply was a smart ass sarcastic reply based on Werewolf's "Gotta go domestic" thread.

Yea.

I get the chances of winning were still very low. Either by analytics or by the eye test. But ffs. You’re 2-6. Just go for it.
The fan in me wants them to go for it. The gambler in me wants them to cover the spread. He was doing the people who had faith in Pitt to cover a favor.

There was no sense of urgency with this Pitt team going into the 4th quarter. Not that urgency would have done any good with this head coach, OC or offense. None are capable of scoring much in 2023 college football.

It seems like a distant memory when we were one of the highest scoring teams in the country. I recall it being over 45 point/game average, maybe more. Now if we score 10, we're lucky.

I think someone said something similar while the game was going on. I don’t doubt that kinda crap goes in but it’s effed up. On game day he (and any other coach) owes everything to the kids on the team.

All you need to know about the caliber Narduzzi’s in game decision making can be discerned from his absolute clueless use of TOS which, as you point out, shows his complete ignorance of the overall game situation. And yes, there were a handful of times today where there was clear disorganization stemming from the interchange of personnel that begged for the use of a TO but the astute strategist that he is, Narduzzi let the play proceed and Pitt got burned.

You missed the really stupid part of that. After Carter's nice run on the first play to get you 15 yards where you could decide to try to get something, we called timeout. With the clock stopped for a first down. Why on earth are you not just running up to the line and as soon as the ref blows the whistle to start the clock you spike the ball, thus losing one or two seconds but keeping the timeout?

It seems pretty obvious that when he can be bothered to not use all his timeouts on defense he really doesn't have a good feel for the timing aspects of the game.

So what do you think Joe, time to can the Duzz?

Wannestedt was fired after going 7-4, one season after winning 10 games. Just saying.

Wannstedt didn't have six years at nearly $6 million per year (or whatever the exact numbers are) left on his contract when he got fired. Just saying.
Mike Gottfired had a lifetime contract and they fired him without having to kill him.
There are ways. Maybe a gas leak in his office? Child porn on his computer? This is where the AD needs to show her worth.
MSU got out of a big buyout. There are always solutions.

It's not worth worrying about, because it's not going to happen.
That's fine, I get it. However, to effect the kind of change everyone on this board is bitching about getting rid of Cignetti is a waste of time. It is. The overall talent on this team is so low, especially with inept quarterbacking, no amount X's and O's is going to make the impact everyone thinks it is. Duzz owns this, no one else.

Veilleux running no huddle would certainly have been a sight to see.

you have to have some tempo in the 4th quarter, still down only 17, which in college football today is nothing with a whole quarter to play. This isn't the first time there was no sense of urgency, and punting on 4th and 4 with 6 minutes to go was a real chickensht call.

I've said I'm not a Cignetti hater, but this season has really soured me on him and now am convince that he and the rest of the offensive staff needs to be replaced.

I am doubling down refuting the claim that the Duzz is light-years better than Dave.

Look, I know you are a Wanny hater and Petersen fanboy, but that claim by TD is bullshit and you know it.

read my post above, I said the same thing. And far from a fanboy of Peterson, I've said the decision to tear down Pitt stadium ranks right up there with Bozik's decision to join the Big East and not form the Eastern sports league with PSU as the biggest errors in Pitt history

Trying to go tempo would just be inviting disaster. Fans are asking the QB & the offense to be something it's not right now. They had their chances in this game doing what they do and they didn't get it done.

I'm indifferent on Cignetti. The important thing right now is QB development and improvement on the OL. The offense is getting better. It just needs time. It should be better next year regardless of OC.

Narduzzi doesn't want any assistant upscaling him so he hires guys that won't steal the limelight. Major major ego problem!!! Alot of assistants won't come here since he's too difficult to work with. I'm glad some high ups were at practices this week evaluating. All the assistants on the offense side of the ball need shown the door.

TD, the offense is way too complicated for these players. Also hiring an OC that was getting fired anyway from BC was horrible. Lousy and lazy hire.
