Well ... it looks like ...

If tickets were priced correctly, they could have sold 8K-9K season tickets. 33% of those would have showed up last night.

We are drawing fewer fans than our worst Field House teams. Yes, fans dont like Stallings but price certainly has a ton to do with fewer sales.

The first step to increase butts in the seats is to sell the ticket in the first place.
Have to disagree - While I don't believe the horrendous attendance is due to Stallings (said by someone who attends 3 fb and 3 bb games a year), attendance this year would probably not be appreciably better if they gave the tickets away. Maybe they would get some local bb teams to attend as groups. It would have very little effect on individuals attendance.

I am not arguing what will be profitable or what wouldn't be. I agree with your last post but that isn't what I am saying. I am simply saying that there is a price where Pitt would have sold a considerable amount of season tickets. Perhaps it would have been too low and they would rather sell 2K-3K tickets at above market proces than 8K-9K tickets at low prices. Price matters is all I'm saying.
Price matters less if no one wants the product. Would you buy a new Yugo at $50?? People can't give away Pitt hoops tix. Those that bought season tix did it more by habit/loyalty than enthusiasm for the product.
I doubt Heather Lyke had any input on price....she started just a couple weeks before they started selling packages.
Pitt needs to send a message that they want to compete.

If upper deck season tickets cost $99, how many more do you think they would have sold?

Honestly, they sell out, even if its just people buying them for Duke and selling the rest.

Maybe sales might have had a miniscule hike, but not actual attendance.

It looks like COEngineer was right back in the day. We are a football school. Pitt football at its worse always has the same core attendance at all games.

Clearly the core hoops attendees is about 1000 these days.

That "core" would look a lot smaller if we were winless in the ACC with Paul Pasqualoni as coach.

Why was core hoops attendance 3000 during the worst days at the Field House. Im sorry, I don't believe 1000 is our core.

If you want to talk about a quiet crowd, attend a Pens game. Never seen it so bad and so unenthusiastic.
Plenty empty seats too.
