Why didn’t ND go for 2?

They have been spectacular tonight, Bresee in particular has been a non factor.
It probably won't matter, but they marked that penalty off wrong. It was second and 11 at the 26. 10 back and 15 forward should have put the ball at the 21. They marked it right on the 20 for some reason. It's like the forgot that Notre Dame ran a play for a loss before the penalties.
Usually when a game goes to overtime you don't get a lot of commercials. In this game they've had as many commercials as during a regular quarter.
If ND has a bunch of players out due to Covid, then they should be forced to play. So much for social distancing.
And the unsaid fact is that this loss doesn’t really affect Clemson all that much at all, win out and they are still guaranteed a playoff spot.
One thing that is abundantly clear at this point is that the Notre Dame student body doesn't think that social distancing rules apply to them. And I'm not just talking about with what happened after the game.
Will also say to the people claiming Jurkovec was better than Ian Book, “You cannot be serious!”
Seriously, WTH with rushing the field. ACC shouldn't allow them to have fans due to that.
Third ot requires you to go for 2.dont tell that to randy edsall as we all know too well.
Well the quick and easy answer now after the fact is that they didn't go for 2 because they didn't need to do that.

It's not even the midwest as a whole. Notre Dame has had serious outbreaks this fall. And talking to a guy whose daughter goes to Notre Dame at the game two weeks ago the students there just don't care. In the midst of the last outbreak some of the students organized a big party that hundreds of students went to. A couple weeks ago they attributed a rise in cases to unauthorized tailgate parties tied to one of the football games. They just don't seem to care.
Of course that doesn't make them unique either.
