Will he be somebody that Narduzzi looks to bring in as a grad transfer?

I see him wanting to do a better job protecting Patti’s RS next year, so I think we need one more. I would also expect him to looknat Cossentino, as he’s a local kid and used to sitting on the bench.

To be clear- lots of questions. No B1G/ non-conf opponent next year. Was part of agreement. No bowl game bc enrolling in Jan. Couldn’t wait til after game leaving 1 week to decide. Love y’all, go blue!

He would have to resort to a backup job here. He should be able to start somewhere next year so not sure why he would sign up to be a backup.

Speight will be going somewhere where he will be anointed as the starter, very little chance he goes to a program where there would be serious competition.

He’s a 2 year starter at Michigan with a lot of wins. He lost his job due to injuries. Do you actually think he’s leaving that to go provide depth somewhere?

I can't imagine any P5 team would offer him a guarenteed starter role.
And why is that? He stated 2 years at a premiere program. Got passed over due to injury, not performance.

This isn’t Max Browne who couldn’t get on the field at USC and when he finally did, couldn’t stay there for more than a cup of coffee.

He’ll start at a Power 5 program next year. Put that in the bank.

I actually think it will be very hard for him to get a guaranteed (or close to guaranteed) starting spot next year in P5 with those restrictions. Probably options mostly like Pitt where it is a team with a shot to be decent and where he will have to compete to play.

He will go to a P5 team with a pro-style offense that is graduating a starting QB. He will go there with the same idea Browne and our coaches had-to be a bridge starter between an established starter and young unproven backups.

There is no such thing as a guaranteed starting job, but you can maximize your odds by choosing the right destination. That’s what Browne did by coming to Pitt. He just wasn’t any good, he had no track record at USC, and then of course he got hurt.

Sure, but outside of the B1G I'm not sure there are going to be many of those options. UVa would be a solid option, but Mendenhall said he wasn't a fan of 1 year guys, so maybe not. There aren't a lot programs who fit both the pro style and no QB criteria, outside of the B1G.

Remember when some of us were excited about the possibility of Malik Zaire? Things didn’t turn out too good for him.

Of course... now we seemingly have a QB for the future unlike last year. I think DiNucci is fine as a backup.

There are 65 P5 teams, he’ll find a place.

Maybe it won’t be a traditional pro style offense. What’s behind Rudolph at OkSU? Let me answer that-nothing.

Clemson signed Hunter Johnson last year, who many thought was the number one drop back passer in the country coming out of HS.

I get what you are saying about fit, but Clemson isn't a place I expected to look for a pro style freshman, so there may be some coaches who will tailor the offense to fit him.

I think ... no

He looked like a rich man's DiNucci for Michigan. Not very good. I think DiNucci is fine off the bench, he has already proved he can come into a game and light a spark, that is more his forte.

Need I remind you that in another thread, you literally and crazily said DiNucci far out-performed Browne, who was a 5 star grad transfer who actually did have a canon arm

I hope you're right, I don't like to see a career end on an injury. But I'm not sure too many coaches are going to guarantee the starter role to a less than strong armed qb who was last seen recuperating from cracked vertebrae.

As I’ve said, nobody guarantees anything-but if he picks the right situation, and stays healthy, he can basically guarantee a starting job for himself.
