I’m also a bit angry because I had Messi scoring a pk and Giroud having a shot on target as part of a parlay. With Girouds day done, my parlay is lost.
Poor officiating and an unjust pen awarded in the first 20 minutes of match effected the outcome. Argentina has played as the better team today, but the simulation and ball stalling is the reason this sport will never be as popular in the US.

Down two goals going to require much higher work rate from your forward and Olivier can’t do that. Demebele just looked like a wilting flower in the big moment, kind of like his play for Barca.

An unjust penalty? I’m new ish so maybe I’m clueless. But it seems very just. I think stupid and needless by Dembele are more appropriate.

I had Argentina to score a penalty at +650, which I thought was too high and didn’t really understand the way the tournament has gone. In retrospect I wish I had bet more on it.
Was about to bash Deschamps for removing Giroud, I thought it was reactionary and punitive in nature at the time. When you’re down 2 why take out a guy who’s proven over and over again he can make something out of nothing?

Giroud is not a playmaker who will run and run and run. France needed some urgency and some attacking players.
