I have a WPIAL football game scheduling question and questions about basketball too.

For a non-section game, does the visiting team get any of the gate? Enough to cover expenses? A percentage of the gate? I wouldn't think there's always a home-and-home series set up for those games. For example, Plum is playing at Highlands this year, a 5-A versus 4-A match-up.

Same for basketball if there isn't a home-and-home arrangement for a non-section game? What about when it's a playoff game at a neutral site? What's the WPIAL's take? How much does each school get and what's the host school's take?

Just curious as to how that all was divided up. I figured someone in here would know how that works. Thank you.

Regular schedule...100% Home team + concession sales.
Play-off...teams get a % of ticket sales at their respective schools. Hosting schools get concessions + facility rental. WPIAL assumes all costs...ticket takers, chain crew, facility manager, etc.

This is spot on. No sharing on any gates during the regular season

Playoffs basically as Nationalchamps1 described

Thanks for the info. So one would think eventually there may be an agreement in place for a home-and-home arrangement with non-section teams or every school would try schedule as many home games as possible.
