Depends who “you guys” are.Just asking for a friend.
I don't think it's complicated. Basically Stallings had an entirely new team go 0-18. Then they basically all transferred out. And Capel brought in a series of fairly talented young guys with really bad chemistry. And they'd leave and he'd do the same. He basically arrived overlapping with the transfer growth and NIL (mentioning covid seems to drive people nuts.) Just so much rebooting.I could understand it if there are people who do. It seems kind of crazy that in the year when supposedly Heather threatens his job he actually recruited well and has put together a pretty good team. Was he just going through motions previously?

This year, new approach, we have a team with seniors. Seniors usually play more mature, often shoot and pass better, have grown into their bodies. The chemistry seems good. Oddly we may have lucked out that the talented troubled freshman, Dior, won't actually play this year.
I'm not sure how good a coach he is or isn't, but it's his first mature team here, and it's looking good.
Idk but it took several years for the transfer portal to either become more senior heavy or for Capel to be able to land them instead of 3-4 star freshmen who were decent but just left anyway. It took several years to learn that?
Mine was sharpened two years agoWe've had this discussion before... let's wait until February, haha.
Although I was one who said before the season that you might as well just keep him at this point. He pieced together a solid team this past offseason, and he has good recruits coming in. Makes no sense to pay $5M/year to make him go away just to have another coach come in here and start over with even less going for him.
Granted, I said that before the season. I'll fully admit I was sharpening my pitchfork after that WVU-UM-VCU stretch of games.
I said from the start of season he needs to make the nit at least was my bar to hit.I’m personally not
I have the same feeling I did before yesterday. One game at a time.Just asking for a
I don’t recall, we’re you vigorously defending and sticking up for him against anyone posting to fire him previously.Just asking for a friend.
Only the VCU lossGranted, I said that before the season. I'll fully admit I was sharpening my pitchfork after that WVU-UM-VCU stretch of games.
I'll give you the answer, Mr. Think-You-Know-the-Answer: Yes.I don’t recall, we’re you vigorously defending and sticking up for him against anyone posting to fire him previously.
Just asking for a friend but never mind anyway, I already know the answer.
On game at a time. Enjoy. We’ve won 9 of 10 with the lone loss being by one point.Well I definitely was in the Fire Capel camp. I will say I am surprised with the success so far. I will caution everyone as we have seen the bottom fall out every year. So my question to you would be if they lose 5 or 6 in a row to end the year. Do you bring him back?
I wouldn’t be too quick to take a victory lap. He hasn’t finished a single season strong because of team chemistry issues. This team certainly seems more mature, but the Champagnie/Audiese Toney/X team that beat Duke and then put up 100 on Syracuse looked great also… and then it all crashed. He has 6 straight losing seasons as a head coach. As we’ve established here before not even Ed DeChellis, Dave Leitao, Pat Chambers or Wayne Tinkle have done that at the P5 level.I'll give you the answer, Mr. Think-You-Know-the-Answer: Yes.
I’ll take your word for it that you posted vigorously in defense of and in support of Capel through all the low times and posters wanting him gone yesterday.I'll give you the answer, Mr. Think-You-Know-the-Answer: Yes.
yes....worst thing that could happen for the program this year would be a better than expected middle of the pack finish with..A leopard's spots usually remain the same...Just asking for a friend.

My point is, Capel had no equity among the fan base entering the season so how about we let him build that back up before we take shots at those who rightfully didn’t (or maybe still don’t) think he is the right guy for the job.
Yeah. He still has 6 ACC games against teams in the Top 50. Then the ACC tourney. This team and Capel will be tested. And Capel has never not had a team fall apart. I am hoping that changes this season. I think he has the right players.Ask me again in 6 weeks. Feeling encouraged so far but I need to see him not lose the team come midway through the ACC.
Making a postseason tourney would be a big step.Agree.
Agree with this also.Right now, I like what I see. I like what I see up and down the roster. I like what I see on the court. Off the court. I like the recruiting class. I would prefer stability. But we have been at this spot before, and famously crashed and burned. So let's wait a month. I think he has turned it around, but still these is alot of basketball to be played.
