Yes, they haven't adequately replaced the guards and wings they lost from last year's team and that is their biggest problem. Karnowski could be gone for the season. Has really bad back and can't walk without crutches--it might require surgery the TV announcers said. Still, he might have made a difference last night vs UCLA.

Actually not having Karnowski is a pretty decent excuse IMO. First round draft pick if he's healthy.

Yeah, that's a pretty big excuse, both literally and figuratively. And it's not like they lost to UCSB. They lost to UCLA. You know, UCLA is actually a decent team. Surprising, but true.
