Will elimination of National Letter of Intent have an impact on college football recruiting?

“The NLI is gone and the consensus is prospective student-athletes will sign financial aid agreements, scholarship agreements. This sets up better with the looming revenue-share, so there will be more of a contract with the players and schools.”

Predictions for UNC

Alright everyone...back from the Off Week (I hate the term Bye Week for some reason haha). Pitt has a chance to start 5-0 for the first time since 1991....can they do it? If they win this not only do they start 5-0, but they will continue to get more national pub and may sneak into the the top 25. They haven't won in Chapel Hill...ever I believe (at least not since we joined the ACC).

So...I think Pitt FINALLY wins at UNC. Pitt's offense will be able to move the ball and score IMO. Eli will have another good game with over 300 yds (again) and 4 TDs. Reid has over 150 all purpose yds and a TD. I think Kenny Johnson and Mumfield each get over 100 yards (or close to it).

I do think UNC will be able to run the ball and run the ball well, but I think the Pitt defense will be able to get a couple more stops than UNC's D and i think they force two turnovers, which will be huge.

I say Pitt 41 UNC 30

What does everyone else think??

Narduzzi Net Positive on Transfer Portal

Give the Head Coach some credit, which I know he has gotten since the season started but it really has gone in his favor soo far , not only this season but most since this NIL started. With the exception of last season , the portal has benefited Pitt .
Wonder why these kids don't just commit here in the first place ?
Looking forward to playing Cal. In season's past I think the pressure has gotten to Pitt and they cracked and would blow a game they should have won. Maybe with Holstein , he is too young to know what pressure is ???

The Morning Pitt: 10/10/2024 - Matching up with Cal and notable games to watch

Pitt-Cal is two days away, so we're looking at the matchups on today's Morning Pitt. How do the Panthers stack up against the Bears? Let's look into it. Plus, we've got a breakdown of the notable games to watch this weekend.

ESPN Playoff probability calculator

Right now according to ESPN we have a 17% of making the playoff.

With the assumptions you win the rest of your other regular season games and no ACC championship bid, here are the scenarios against our 3 toughest opponents:

SMU, Clemson, and Louisville.

  • 0% chance of making the playoff if we lose all three of these games.
  • 56% chance— getting a 12 seed if we win only against Louisville and lose to SMU and Clemson.
  • 58% chance—-getting a 10 seed if we win only against SMU and lose to Louisville and Clemson.
  • 60% chance getting a 9 seed if we beat only Clemson and lose to both SMU and Louisville.

Again these are the numbers assuming we beat Cal, Cuse, Virginia, and BC.

Numbers also indicate we do not make the ACC championship.
