The Morning Pitt: 1/15/2025 - Portal changes and two keys to beating Florida State

Pitt has a big opportunity tonight when the Panthers take on Florida State in Tallahassee. What does Jeff Capel's crew need to do against the Seminoles? And could the NCAA be on the verge of making a notable change to the transfer portal? All that and more on today's Morning Pitt.

Why should Duggar stay here? This staff did everything they could not to play him.

This is their evaluation of the kid. He’s behind a walk on. And only when that walk-on starting crying on the field and decided he wanted nothing to do with playing, only then did we turn to him.

He can transfer down, start, then transfer up.

Or - he can sit behind Eli, for at least 1, maybe 2 years. Maybe get in the game for certain calls - whenever Kade decides he’d like a QB to throw the ball instead of a Tight End?

Why should he have loyalty to this staff who did all they could not to play him?

Santos v. Drumgoole

Had this come across my feed this afternoon and it was nice to see a couple of our former guys square off today and both play well. Santos had 23 and Drumgoole had 21 but GW absolutely cooked Dayton even without their leading scorer and former Vtech recruit Darren Buchanan. Chris Caputo seems as though he might have something going at George Washington.

Remember when I said the Power 4 should run the NCAA Tournament

The GOAT may end up being right again. Looks like its happening. No word on what this exactly would mean but my guess is that it would be some guarantee of a minimum amount of bids for those 4 conferences, which is what I said needs to happen. It was possibly criminal to leave a team like Pitt out and put 6 out of 9 Mountain West teams in. That kind of stuff cant happen.
