1-Word to Describe the Steelers

That’s what happens when you blow off the pre-season and treat it like a get together of friends. Also the reason the Steelers blow the first 4 games of the season every year.
Blowing the first 4 games every year?

2017 - 3-1
2016 - 3-1
2015 - 2-2
2014 - 2-2

They can’t possibly run it 3 plays and punt can they?

Need a 1st down if they’re going to win, ton of time left.

Roethlisberger's scrambling and improvising the only thing that is saving this team. When he retires they are done.

Panthersish. . Decent 1st half ... shitty 2nd halves. Undisiplicned, offense and defense seems to be vanilla and disappear in the 2nd half. Both teams right now are a mirror image of eachother

Hot take-
Lacking quality q.b play makes teams worse

Never considered that

You can be a good qb and not be able to improvise like Roethlisberger does. Most NFL qb's cant improvise like that in my opinion. They showed his statistics while under pressure in the pocket. Best in the league since 2010 I believe?

Undisciplined
The announcers mentioned this numerous times.

One announcer mentioned that Tomlin must get control of the team after they committed the roughing the passer penalty when the Steelers player argued with the official.

These idiot announcers keep babbling about Bell while the game is on the line.

The Bell crap was annoying and overstated. First off, let's all remember, all of those guys, Booger, Witten, Young, all ex players and ex NFLPA members.

But they were ill informed. "PAY THE GUY". Well the Steelers have made offers to Bell that would have made him the highest paid RB in the NFL. Twice they did. Bell turned them down. "PAY THE GUY". Pay him what? Just because a player demands a billion dollars, the team is obligated to meet those demands? "PAY THE GUY". Forgetting that RB's are a position that is most replaceable and have the shortest shelf life and Bell, while still young has been in the NFL for 5 years, usually about year , if not earlier, they always decline. "PAY THE GUY", two drug violations, he is one more away from a year suspension. And judging by the company he keeps, that is not that far away. "PAY THE GUY". How about, "no, he is asking for too much money and his demands are unreasonable.

On that note, all Le'veon Bell is doing is within the CBA rights. All the Steelers are doing are within the CBA Rights. They are both pissed at each other. I think it is a bad rule, the NFLPA really hamstrings their players with the back to back Franchise Players, I think one year is enough. Bell's stubbornness and frankly wrong position (he is not worth that kind of money) is the cause of this. But also it is the Steeler's stubbornness, expecting Bell to hold out camp, then sign right before the season stars, well hahaha, he screwed you guys.

The Steelers should be more Patriots like, find a trade partner and traded this past offseason. Use the draft picks and cap room to rebuild the defense and sign a cheaper RB like Dion Lewis. The Steelers effed this thing up, but they didn't screw it up by not paying the guy.

They looked somewhat unhinged at times but that gets forgiven for a W.

One thing I'll give them credit for last night. They seemed to recognize they needed to try to create pressure and they brought different people at different times. They got burned sometimes but unnerved the "journeyman" (sounds like it should be the title of a Josh Brolin movie) enough to throw those hideous 1st half picks that decided that game ultimately.

Narduzzi imo would not have changed it up, and instead kept the base D in place to be picked apart... again.

And before anyone pines for Wanny again, he was guilty of the same thing, except one time of course (13-9).

They stated last night that Conner is making 200G less for the season than Bell is giving up per game. That's a pretty significant savings! He isn't quite Bell but more than good enough given all the other weapons, especially if McDonald can stay healthy (man what an awesome Td he scored)

Not quite Bell, dude he’s not anything close to Bell!!!!

Given the Stillers deficiencies on D, which aren’t going to somehow significantly improve they will need a strong , committed Bell to return and not have his head up his arse....

And that’s not likely so one more blown Ben shot at SB #7....The front office mucked this up by not addressing the fiasco in the draft or off season....

Then get out there in the rain with your can and raise the money to help the poor Rooneys "pay the man" then! Times wastin'! :D

Conner sealed the win, with big runs at the end. Not saying Ridley couldn't have either given some of the holes. But Bell couldn't have done any better.

Conner also caught everything remotely near him and picked up blitzes.

For the money difference, extremely productive.

If Bell was here playing, the Steelers record would be 1-1-1

Take up a can....hahaha that’s a good one, funny too.

Conner is not Bell lol ....not even close.
As Tomlin likes to say the weeks will talk to us....

Stillers are not winning a Super Bowl wo Bell you can bet that

I'm not discounting Bell talent. He's a tremendous player. In this league he isn't as valuable as he might have been a decade back, maybe more.

Teams like New England and now Philly have shown the template. RB are basically ballast. Even the NFL rules themselves design the commodity aspect of running backs into it ... RB are permitted to be pulverized, helmet to helmet etc. while totally opposite of QBs, with WR somewhat protected.

The Rams threw a strange wrinkle with Gurley. I honestly don't know what they're thinking there, given the above. Maybe it starts a new attitude shift in the league. But until they win anything vs what the Patriots and Eagles have accomplished, I am not going to think throwing all that $ at Gurley was a brilliant move.
