we could just as easily have been there after beating Clemson if we could have held on against UNC and pulled out the OSU game.

42-39.
Here's the difference our victory was on the road psu was at home. Pitt is more impressive. HTP
Meh - we both beat the #2 team. Ours was on the road in perfect weather, so on paper it is more impressive, but their win is legit too.
But, Joe knew.
But.....but......Chambers is turning that program around in year 4 or 5....err.....whatever.Go Albany!!

Nice win today - you can say whatever you want about whose wins were better and of course Pitt beat PSU but the " committe" are the ones who make the call. PSU could be at #6 or #7 next week. Pitt who knows.Pitt is better than Penn State. I give them credit for beating a very good OSU team but we beat a much better team on the road. Nobody besides Michigan and OSU on their schedule is Miami, UNC, VT, and OKST. They took advantage of a very easy schedule.
The "Committee" makes the call on overall records, no SOS. Congrats on a potential great bowl bid, but, at the end of the day, we beat you. You did beat is - no argument there - you guys played a good game today and gutted it out - I like to see PA football relevant again. We bounced back after the loss to you and Pitt seems to be hitting its stride now.The "Committee" makes the call on overall records, no SOS. Cool. See ya in September. You did beat is - no argument there - you guys played a good game today and gutted it out - I like to see PA football relevant again. We bounced back after the loss to you and Pitt seems to be hitting its stride now.
Sounds good, but PSU will never reschedule these games. Remember #Unrivaled???????The best way to ensure that the Pitt-Penn St. games gets played is for both teams to be consistently good.

Keep on whining and spewing your antiPitt manure. I'm sure you had a fun day in Bloomungton Indiana sitting with all the other pedophiliacs.we could just as easily have been there after beating Clemson if we could have held on against UNC and pulled out the OSU game.

Lol at citing each team's close game/losses. Yeah, losses/close games to inferior opponents happen. But they've still been consistently solid winning almost all their games and two of them were on the road for Pitt - not easy games. Can't really excuse Miami so much though, they've got talent but no consistency. That matchup was just a perfect storm with them reeling and how they always seem to own Pitt.Clemson is MUCH better than tOSU? Based on what?
The Tigers have win about 5 games in the last minute. They often struggle to put inferior teams away.
Also, OKST, VaTech, and UNC are not good teams. One damn near lost to TxTech. VT lost convincingly at home to GT, and UNC just lost to Duke.
Miami was on a 4 game losing streak coming into our game.
JP on his deathbed: "Do you think I did enough?"And Joe knew.
Forget about the top 10-if they win out against two crap opponents, and OSU beats Michigan, those F'ers will be one win from the friggin' Rose Bowl. That would really, really suck for us/Pitt.we could just as easily have been there after beating Clemson if we could have held on against UNC and pulled out the OSU game.
Eh, we can debate stuff like this all day. That point is valid. But to just flat out say UNC, VT and OK state aren't good teams is kinda pushing it. They're all above average this year.Thats what I'm saying. How can you say definitively Iowa, IU, Minnesota etc are any better or worse than UNC, VaTech, or Miami? You can't.

Who's joe
Here's all I have to say about PSU.
Joe knew.
And they know that Joe knew.
Wow. Classic yinzer. Coming off a truly great win, and then PRESTO, it's a little brother post about Penn State
