SIAP - Every year since 2015, 247 Sports has released a Team Talent Composite ranking that examines and ranks every FBS team – accounting for transfers, dismissals and other early departures – based on how players on their roster ranked in high school. I generally find it to be pretty interesting and informative- although obviously some teams do better and some do worse than their “talent” suggests.

Here is the 2021 article: https://247sports.com/Article/Team-...eorgia-Ohio-State-Clemson-Oklahoma-169892591/ Here is the list: https://247sports.com/Season/2021-Football/CollegeTeamTalentComposite/

Pitt comes in at #37 with a composite rating of 668.67 with 0 5-stars and 12 4-stars on the roster. That’s good for #7 in the ACC. We’ve fluctuated from 6-8 in the ACC each year since 2015. In 2020, we were #8. In terms of our 2021 opponents, we’re “more talented” than 7 and “less talented” than 5.

Clemson is #4 with a rating of 935.08 and 10 5-stars and 41 4-stars. Miami is #13 with a rating of 841.45 and 2 5-stars and 41 4-stars. UNC is #17 and a rating of 798.29 with 2 5-stars and 27 4-stars. Tennessee is #19 (even after after all their transfers!) and a rating of 780.53 with 3 5-stars and 26 4-stars, and Georgia Tech is #33 with a rating of 707.35 with 0 5-stars and 16 4-stars.

Coming in just below Pitt, VT is #39 with a rating of 663.78 and 14 4-stars. UVA is #56 with a rating of 619.61 and 5 4-stars. Duke is #62 with a rating of 605.57 and 1 4-star. Syracuse is #69 with a rating of 567.19 and 3 4-stars. Western Michigan is #106 with a rating of 396.47 with 0 4-stars and 34 3-stars. And UMass is #126 with 1 4-star and only 8 3-stars.
