Excerpts
30 years later: The legacy of SMU's death penalty and six teams nearly hit with one:
SMU.........the 30th anniversary of SMU football getting The Big Haircut. Already on NCAA probation, the Mustangs became subject to the infamous repeat violator rule that was enacted only two years before SMU football was shuttered on Feb. 25, 1987.

The Six NCAA Sanctions Scandals Shame:

1. BAYLOR BASKETBALL 2005...
2. PENN STATE FOOTBALL 2012...
3. ALABAMA FOOTBALL 2002...
4. USC FOOTBALL 2010...
5. OKLAHOMA STATE FOOTBALL 1989...

6. MIAMI FOOTBALL & BASKETBALL 2013...

New Era & BAMA, USC, PSU, OKST and MIAMI will all be in the Top 10 or Top 25 early on in 2017 Rankings!

It is not what happen in the past, it how they all recovered, reformed, and now performing in compliance and at high level.

I credit every one them and much to be admired, respected, and fun to watch today!

I know others disagree with me, but that is OK too!

I don't equate crying and whining until the punishment was reduced to being reformed. I see very little cultural change up there. The NCAA was and is in a precarious position with disciplining its own members.

Agree to disagree....Penn State still paid a heavy price and is still dealing with the Football Scandal, but the Trustees finally did the Right Things and today are Scandal Free with an eye to being better under Franklin brought in by the same Trustees, President Erickson and Dr. Joyner....and you are correct about those few Fans that still condemn fellow Penn State Alumni that helped clean up the Tarnished Legacy of 409 Cultural Problems that came with it and can't admit it?

However, on a positive point on the CBS Sports Topic Thread in 2016, I never witness such great Games played by Bama, Miami, Oklahoma State, USC and Penn State, to be fair. They were all a joy to watch and all winning the right way again.

This is all over my head. I am still trying to figure out how The Nits and tOSU got away without even being questioned about the near open bidding war for Terrelle Pryor.
