A fun but crazy hypothetical question

If Pitt upsets ND and wins the next game in the ACC Tournament, does Stallings keep his job?

And maybe I shouldn't have used the word fun because knowing Stallings is back for a 3rd season would be anything but fun.

There is no chance, 0% or less, that Stallings will win this game. But if ND doesn't show up for some reason, maybe 4 or 5 of their players are arrested or something, we might be able to stay within 20 of ND. For Pitt to win means that ND would have experienced the most monumental collapse in college basketball by any team this year or any year.

But to answer your question, no. Stallings does not deserve to keep his job just because of one lousy win. If he won the ACCT, I'd say he might deserve a second look, but not likely. He's already damaged the program too much and we need it fixed.

That's a scary thought of Stallings returning, but, I could never root for us to lose.

I'd never root for us to lose. But a win won't do a thing to influence Stallings' fate. It would be very fitting and uplifting for those kids to win a game, that's all that matters.

Keep stirring.

Hypothetically obviously. The only way I would keep him is if he wins the ACC tourney.

When we win the ACC tournament, will the NCAA put us in Dayton for the 16-16 play in game with the other crappy conference champions? If so, when we lose to Wagner in Dayton will that put Stallings back on the hot seat?

I think he is dead man walking. As I listened to the Lyke interview this week I thought I heard her use past tense referring to KS at least twice, and the awkward pauses indicate to me they are waiting for the last game. The only thing that can save him is a 5 game win streak in the ACCT, followed by another 7 game win streak in the NCAAT. It’s over.

Yeah, that was more hypothetical than it was fun.
