I was reading the testimony on espn.com regarding Brian Bowen Sr. about his son’s eventual commitment and $150,000 payout from one of Pitino’s assistant coaches at Louisville which is being prosecuted in Federal Court by the FBI.

Reading the article, this father had been receiving payouts for his son starting back in .....middle school by AAU teams sponsored by shoe companies.

If the money these other coaches were throwing around as well at Texas, Oklahoma State, Miami, NC State , Crieghton and others is true (all above $100 G’s).......

It’s easy to see why Dixon and Stallings were struggeling for recruits. And why Narduzzi isn’t signing four stars as well.
Another thought occurred to me.

Few places in American business do the Owner’s receive as much profit than do the workers. The University of Texas’ athletic department profitted over $210 million while their emyploees - the student athlete made zero.
The worlds most profitable Company- Apple- generates about $ 250,000 of profit per employee. Texas- nearly double that.
Apple spends a lot of money on talent acquisition and training. If I was a coach or athletic director and my livelihood was dependent on 18 year olds .....but I was making $2-3 M per year, you would be damn sure there were ways of “convincing” the best talent available.
