Just Pitt was left out. Technically, the team with the worst prior year RPI is left out, which would have been BC but I'd imagine that Pitt, very smartly, opted to sit out this year in return for playing in it next year even though we will have the worst RPI this year.

Pitt was due a home game this year and it would have been senseless for us to waste that game vs the preseason #14 Big Ten team in front of 3K people. Since we should hopefully be much better next season, that's when we will get our home game

I think Pitt was left out this year because the ACC doesn't make the same team sit out 2 years in a row, thus BC had to play this year, so Pitt was the next option

This is correct. It was not up to Pitt at all.
