Yea I hated that. You are only down 4 at that point take the easy 2 points and make it 32-30. Little things like that with this Pitt team are maddening.
This is what happens Pitt cuts it close and then they just completely fall apart for a few minute and the deficit just like that is back to double digits.
I'm really losing confidence in Capel as a coach. Other than Champ and perhaps Toney, this entire roster has gotten WORSE as the season has progressed, not better.
This has just been a complete disaster these last 3-4 weeks during this 6 game losing streak. Even with the recruits coming in next season how much better is Pitt gonna be if both Johnson and McGowens both continue to absolutely suck and get worse every game.
We stop playing defense for 5 minutes and game is out of hand again
Down 16 with 7 minutes to go they force a 10 second call coming out of the break.
The lack of talent is terribly frustrating but sorry nobody here is going to convince me they don’t play hard.

I’d just love to see someone be a leader. Someone show they give a shit and get in someone’s face when they are lazy or stupid. Our 3 sophomores have been HORRIFIC tonight.

Things have got to change and not just at the margins.
Anyone thinking a lineup of Brown, Toney, Champagnie, McGowens and Johnson will be better next season because of experience is plain crazy.
They need an interior option, but X, Trey, Toney and Champagnie are going to be just fine with another year of experience. Brown has not upside I think we all can see that.
Devoe just managed to run a worse fast break than Pitt. 4 on 1 and he runs over our defender for a charge.

The poise of this team is just terrible when things start going bad. You can see how out of control they are and they just have no clue what to do or how to respond.
Horton and Hughly will help but yea guys like X and Trey have given you no reason to believe they will be that much better next season. Both of these guys have huge attitude and maturity issues and I don’t see them getting much better.
I thought the officiating was the difference in the game tonight.
Or offense...actually the whole group is just offensive.
But, at least they play hard...
Not really they play reckless and without any poise or composure .
