Forget Henderson, he isnt even used in the passing game. Not sure why but he's not even an option. I honestly think he will seriously consider a grad transfer to a spread team where he can get the ball more in space. Not sure he can get to the NFL on kick returns alone if he doesn't do anything at WR.
If you look up and down the depth chart at WR, you see a lot of recruiting failure.
- Weah - not a P5 primary receiver. He took advantage of loading the box last year and an NFL QB. Pitt was his only P5 offer.
- Matthews - his recruitment was mostly as a DB and would not have been a high-level WR recruit
- Arujo-Lopes - Pitt was his only P5 offer
- Ffrench - Pitt and RU were his only P5 offers until Franklin tried to steal him late
- Flowers - lower P5 offers from Illinois and Kentucky and also a good P5 offer in Iowa. Doesn't say much but he's the highest recruited player but he's not even good enough to get on the field
- Tipton - injured but Mich St was only P5 offer besides Pitt.
We talk a lot about LB recruiting failures but WR is probably worse. Its hard to imagine that Pitt has ever had a weaker group of WRs.
