At what point does Heather oust Cignetti?

It would be the most PiTT thing for Duzz to bolt to MsU and then heather to appoint Cigs as interim head coach.

1. MSU will not hire Narduzzi…

2. If that happened, Heather would appoint the current assistant head coach (Partridge).

we won the ACC and the stadium still had 30 empty seats coming off one of the most exciting offenses in school history. Heck the defacto Coastal championship game with Virginia in 2021 there were plenty of seats to be had

So tell me who is going to ride in and save the day? Names please, let's hear your thoughts.
You expected sports fans in Pittsburgh to be excited about the prospects of winning a coastal division championship? That’s the equivalent of winning the little league World Series.

I’ll give you my list as soon as you give me your list of P5 schools that will hire Narduzzi away from Pitt as HC, or hire him as HC when he’s eventually terminated by Pitt. His phone hasn’t rang a whole lot, has it?

Empty seats for a Pitt-Virginia game? You’re right, nobody could fix that. Although if Pitt had rolled into that game undefeated, as they would have been if Narduzzi’s precious defense hadn’t $hit the bed against the #9 team in the MAC and a mediocre Miami team, maybe it would have drawn a few more.

This just in, nobody gets too excited about the prospect of an ACC Coastal Division clincher against a nationally and locally irrelevant opponent.

A helluva lot more viewers tune in to watch the Little League WS finals than any ACC Coastal matchup that has ever been played.

He never got a serious look from MSU when his mentor and friend Dantonio retired, he sure as hell won’t get one now.

so someone else is just going to ride in and be able to recruit at a top 20 level with 30K empty yellow seats at home games, a conference that is perceived to be less prestigious than the Big10 and SEC, a dwindling local recruiting base, of which the few talent that is decent immediately looks for a spot in one the "prestige" conferences, and a hostile local media that constantly ridicules the hometown school.

Please quit self-prescribing yourself the medication, or maybe give some to the rest of us.
Yes
Because at $5.78mil a year - he’s not delivering .

If you think Narduzzi’s shoes would be too big to fill, you may need some of those meds.

That stadium has 30,000 empty seats in it and Pitt struggles to recruit because the product is consistently boring and generally irrelevant. Narduzzi was hired to change that. He hasn’t.
This mentality “he’s the best we can do “ is maddening .

It’s beyond risk adverse - it’s being scared to death .
What’s the worst that will happen ?
We’ll having a losing season like we will now ?
We go to a third tier bowl game and call it a success ?

You sure about that? How do you know? Dantonio is more involved now, serving in an interim capacity. Maybe they go the Wisky route and go for the "safe" hire, someone who won't embarrass them or cause scandal.

But you are probably right as they have a big booster or two (can't remember names) who bankrolled Tucker, so I think they will want a splashier hire. Maybe make a run at the Oregon coach

you posted the exact same thing about Wannstedt. How's that been going? What makes you think someone else is going to come in and recruit better given all the factors I previously posted? You think Saban would have better results with this crew? Maybe finish 7-5 instead of 5-7.

College football is all about recruiting. How will this improve in the current environment?

Did we do better than wanny ?
Yep
If Narduzzi leaves there are plenty of capable and likely better coaches than him .
And yes if heather tells him to dump cignetti and he quits -
Good
We had one great season and it was because the offense could out score teams -
And he forced out the OC and WR coach afterward
That’s not a head coach interesting in winning

Losing asst QB coach Jon DiBiaso was another hit. He suddenly left over the summer. He seemed to have good report with recruits and expanded the quality of QBs that we visiting. I don’t know if it was because of HCPN or he just wanted to be back home, but BC scooped him up.

But I honestly don’t know that Pitt’s offense would be that much better with Whipple or Marion still around. Remember pre-2021 Whip offense, where Ffrench managed to set a school record for catches and still not crack 1,000 yards? What school snapped him up after he got canned at Nebraska? The biggest impediment has been awful recruiting on offense under HCPN.

We lost to WMU is the best season we’ve had in 40 years .
I will say that the WMU loss may have helped us gain wins later in the year because it seemed to be what finally convinced Narduzzi/Bates that they couldn't keep safeties and linebackers coming downhill against RPO and that they may need to be willing to give up a few running yards now and then to stop quick read slants.

It made me think that Narduzzi CAN be the right mix of stubborn and flexible. The bigger problem with this year's team is not that, but that we don't have as many explosive players, especially at QB and WR of course.

It was without a doubt an inflection point for Hallett at safety. He got beat on bad that day and ended up as MVP of the ACCCG.

Had we played a schedule like Syracuse has so far this year we would likely be 4-0 and none of these conversations would even be happening.

At best we should be 2-2. We didn’t show up for the brawl. Let’s not act like Western Michigan and Purdue are gimmes.

The OC's contract was expiring. Nebraska paid Whipple twice what he made at Pitt and gave him a multi-year deal. Whip got paid more to coach at Nebraska for a year than he did in 3 years at Pitt. Why would he stay at Pitt to coach Davis Beville, Nick Patti, or Joey Yellen for half a mil? That doesn't make any sense.

Marion had no interest in staying without a promotion or some extra job title with bump in pay. And regardless, he was never going to stay long term.
