over/under 50,000?
With the super cheap seats, and with an important nationally televised game, I don't think it's a bold prediction to say over.

Way, way under. The casual fan wanting to make a game will not make up for the die hards that cant come in on a weekday. Plus UNC will bring almost no people.

Even with Pitt, you'd be surprised how many come out of the woodwork since they are currently relevant and winning.
I know it's a Thursday night, but I wouldn't be surprised over 50k.
Let's hope for a decent crowd and atmosphere for the game!

Honestly guys. We have been doing these weeknight games forever now. Outside of WVU around Thanksgiving, have we ever done 50000? I recall navy one year being semi decent. I recall many a usf and uconn having no effect and even being really bad. I say 40000 is a good night. I obviously hope to be able to eat crow on this on3

Weather isn't looking too great either, have to factor that in when considering the casual fan.

True, but when was the last time we played a Thursday night when both us and our opponent were undefeated in the conference?

Was Miami a Thursday game a few years back? Was it over 50,000?

are you thinking of the dan mason blown knee game? I can't recall and of course if you google search it, you will surely get the steve pederson inflated attendance number of 60,000.

wasn't that like 35-3 Miami? I remember it being a complete disgrace by halftime. I hate those types of games...

It'll be under 50. UVA looked good to my eyes and that wasn't 50.

The students can really make the difference though for atmosphere. They have been bad in the past for these games.

It was quite ugly. I could use a GOOD Thursday night game. I suffered through the Miami games, UCONN, and the Navy mess! Those games make you not want to come back. But I will be there again this Thursday!

We've gone over 50,000 many times since going into Heinz. Hell, in 2003 we AVERAGED over 55,000 - and that was legit. Cincy in 2009 was 65K.

Thursday night will be 52-54K. Notre Dame game will be over 60K.

Thursdays Pitt @Heinz
57k miami 01
30k Navy 07 (wed)
58k miami 10
40k usf 11
40k uconn 11 (wed)

There was a WVU Thursday night game in there too. That was the amazing Revis punt return with that block by Kinder that took out to mountaneers. I was there too. Damn!

I'd be very happy with 45K. Who knows, it'll be what it'll be. Let's just hope its a win, and it's loud. If those things happen, it doesn't matter.

I'll be at the game cheering this team to victory. Weather is supposed to be pretty nice and cool at gametime. Rain moves out of the region by late morning.

ahhh....UCONN....Wednesday night. the occupy heinz movement where 4 WVU fans came. I actually missed that game as we had a Thursday night game against USF that year if memory serves correct and I couldn't miss 4 total days of work that year for 2 games. (I am no longer able to work the day after games after getting home at 3am and then up by 5 am the same day.)

Some of those numbers from the SP era are totally laughable they're so inflated, especially the Wednesday night UConn game.

I do think we have more buzz for this game than the normal weekday game. I dont think we were ranked in any of the previous night games so that helps for the students. I know I had to get extra tickets for the first time since 2010 because people wanted to go. I hope we break 40 and get close to 50. If the students are like the UVA game it should really boost the atmosphere. Here's hoping we don't get rain.

Ok nitter

I think it depends on the weather if this hurricane remnants are over Pittsburgh it will effect attendance

40k would be fine if ya'll closed the north upper deck and half the other upper decks with tarps (in the corners).

My wife and I will be there. Unfortunately, our other 2 tickets will go unused. Anyone need 2? Section 120. Free to anyone who can use them.
