Aundre Hyatt

Speculation: I suspect (but don't know for a fact) that as previously mentioned, we wanted him as a 2019 recruit but would have had taken him in 2018 but only if he were willing to redshirt because we have so many similar wings already on the roster. So, if LSU wouldn't require him to redshirt that could have been the reason why he is apparently headed there.

He has said himself that he would redshirt. Maybe LSU is trying to win his favor by telling him his recovery can be faster there, but that's counter to the kid's own quotes.

Hyatt, who was originally in the Class of 2018 before reclassifying to 2019, is still weighing whether to return to 2018. He could also enroll in college for 2018-19 and redshirt this season.

“I’ve been thinking about red-shirting to develop my body and get a better feel for college basketball,” he added.

Who said any of the above? Way to make a leap and cherry pick my comment.

The comment is cherry picked because you are lauding Capel regardless of outcome. The guy is allowed to miss on a recruit. You don't have to pretend that Pitt backs off every guy that doesn't come here, or that we're somehow better off without them. It's fine to admit, "I wish we'd landed that guy but we came up short."

Who the heck said otherwise? How did I laud Capel for missing a recruit or say anything about Pitt being the one that backed off. Read my whole post.

Let me break it down for you since you seem to be having trouble with what I wrote.

I don't care if he eliminated Pitt or if Pitt eliminated him or if he is moving to freaking planet Mars. That doesn't matter to me at all. It is totally one million percent irrelevant to the overall point I am making and I never once said that Pitt eliminated him.

My overall thoughts are that I will trust Capel to bring the talent back to this program regardless of one kids decision. That is the obvious point I was making.

Class balance .

Or he just told us he’s all in on LSU so we canceled his visit or vice versa.

We have no shortage of wings next year.

We lack guards and bigs

Lacking quality bigs--Yes, that's clear, Brown may be the only one who has ACC contribution potential.

Lacking guards? That issue seems pretty well addressed with the current commits and returning roster.

Official Site Roster has the following listed as Guards:

Smaller Guards:

S. N'Dir 6-3 (Grad Transfer)
X. Johnson 6-3 (FR)
T. McGowens 6-3 (FR)
C. Aiken, Jr. 6-1 (FR)*

Bigger Guards:

M. Ellison 6-6 (RS-JR)
A. Toney 6-6 (FR)
K. Davis 6-4 (SO)

* There are also a number of other walk-on guards on roster but I only include Aiken because he is a 3-star and theoretically should be better than an ordinary walk-on.

Guard/Forwards (Wings)

S. Stevenson 6-6 (SO)
J. Wison-Frame 6-5 (SR)

So, IMHO, unless there is a future NBA point guard we can land, I see no immediate need to recruit more guards for the 2018 class for certain and it shouldn't be a high priority for the 2019 class either.
