What am I forgetting?

Fields vs Duke
Fields vs Xavier
Ramon vs WVU
Burton vs Miss St
Garrick Thomas vs a ranked SHU team
Austin vs Ohio St
Gibbs vs Providence

I dont recall too many last second or buzzer beating shots.

Does the criteria have to be a buzzer beater? If so, I would probably vote Fields vs Xavier.

However the Jerome Lane slam is the shot that still resonates nationally. It was just that badass.

Not necessarily. And Fields vs Xavier wasnt a buzzer beater. Its hard to make the list as a big shot if it was with 2 minutes to go in the game though.

For this mid 80’s old boy, the # 1 shot in my mind was Larry Harris’ corner shot to beat # 2 ranked Cincinnati coached by the scum bag Gale Catlett.
I was just going bring this one up, I was a little kid

I think Clyde Vaughn hit one from the corner against someone that was ranked but I’m drawing a blank

Sam Clancy steal at mid court at duke 1979-1980 vs gminksi, banks, spanarkel… missed the layup, got his own rebound, put it in
Had be in last 10-15 seconds

I too was trying to recall a shot from the corner against a ranked opponent at the Field House back in the 80s. I think it was Rod Brookin that sent a game into overtime which Pitt eventually won. My memory has faded, so I may be wrong.

I was thinking it was against Oklahoma, but the more I think about it the more I think that's not right.

It was definitely in the last second or so, because the reason that Clancy took the first shot when he did, which was apparently NOT actually a layup, is because he thought the clock was going to run out. Instead, there was enough time for him to miss the first shot he took, get the rebound, and lay it in at the buzzer.

I listened to that on radio so no visual recollection… but I agree you are right
Trying to recall Billy’s radio call. lol

Clyde's shot was a very deep two to beat Tennessee in December 1981. Watched the game on TV when I was in High School.

I listened to it on the radio as well. I am going by what Clancy has said about the end of that game in interviews about it well after it happened. He was kind of self-deprecating, basically saying that he almost blew it because he had enough time to shoot a layup in the first place but didn't think he had the time and so he took the first shot too soon, before he got to the basket.

It wasn't a jumper, but Carl Krauser hit a layup with a second to go against Miami in 2004 to tie the game and send it into OT (we won in 2 OT's)

I don't think anyone mentioned Josh Newkirk's jumper with .000001 second left to tie the game against Clemson where we won in OT.
