Being a Football lover who as a fan, rabidly followed the NFL long before attending Pitt and then falling in love with Pitt Football --- I understand from close analysis how as the Higher the Quality of Play and Talent goes, the More & More Important Quarterback play and QB leadership becomes to team success.

In the NFL, for decades now I've watched teams Sell-Out + Totally Mortgage their whole futures trading their most valuable current and future-year draft picks + and even tank entire seasons On Purpose trying to catch that one Young Man who will be the "Franchise QB".

Nathan Peterman became Pitt's "College Franchise QB" not right away, but by the Clemson game in his 2nd Season.

This year, Pat Narduzzi (and many Pitt fans including myself) put all the QB hopes -- all the eggs + 401K + Savings lol -- in the Max Browne panning-out basket.

Welp --- Browne flailed-out and is on the bench. DiNucci got his chance...and it turns out he might as well tie the ball to a balloon, and float it downfield to his recievers. DiNucci has a quick-release, but he leans way back, and puts all his weight back on his plant-foot when he throws which = Inaccuracy + Pick City.

Can a Reporter Please Just Ask Coach Pat Narduzzi about Thomas MacVittie, and the True Freshman Kenny Pickett, and what Act of G*D it would take for them to play this year should DiNucci not be able to carry the load as Starter?

Sorry -- Huge fan, and the crazy loss + the (Fair! and funny to be honest :) ) ruthless Twitter Trolling on Pitt has me a little worked-up.

Hail to Pitt !

Hail to Pitt !

Here, I'll help: MacVittie is not good enough to see the field. Not enough experience in the position.

Pickett is a true Freshman being redshirted. DiNucci is the guy and if they structure the offense to him he'll do well this year..

They want Pickett redshirted.... they believe he is the future and want him to learn as much as he can this year.

McVittie's problems seem to stem from accuracy from every person I've talked to. It's not like he could be any more inept as Browne, so....

Not that it is relevant but, Joe Gilliam threw off his back foot all the time.

Was talking to a 6A assistant at the Spring Game and he said Narduzzi told him something like Pickett is the real deal and Browne was brought in as a bridge so that Pickett can learn the system.

We didnt talk about MacVittie but my sense is that he simply isnt good. There's a reason why Dinucci was "drafted" over him in the Spring Game and why the coaches think he's better. In fact, I think Pickett was drafted over him. MacVittie isnt going to play here. He'll be the QB at Cal or IUP next year.

Well, Chawntez Moss was drafted over James Conner last year in the Spring game too.

I don't give a HOOT until the guy gets a shot in a real game.

Max Browne is 6'5'', 230 and looks like an absolute Thorough-bred in practce. In the real thing vs. opponents who want to tear his head off, he plays like a mouse.

James Conner probably runs a slower 40 than Moss or Darrin Hall in practice. He probably is shorter, and lighter than Qadree Ollison and runs the same time in drills. But Conner is a WARRIOR in a game and the other guys are just pawns.

Dudes need to get "Baptized Under Fire" Period, otherwise it's just pointless Speculation who is good, and who isn't.

Some dudes can't get motivated playing against all their buddies -- they need an "enemy" they want to dominate and beat.

No, Conner didn't play. Moss was drafted over Ollison and Hall and I'm not so sure he's not the best RB

Only Western PA kids transfer there. He's from Ohio, so he'd take the Larry Wanke route.

The Texas QB was a true Freshman and looked pretty good on the field. I'd give up a redshirt to see good QB play.

If TMAC doesn't earn a shot this year, he probably won't ever get one. Our QB situation is a shambles and it's just begging for someone to rise up, grab the job and hold onto it with both hands.
