TNT to air CFP games via sublicense with ESPN

ESPN and TNT Sports have reached a five-year agreement for TNT Sports to sublicense select College Football Playoff games from ESPN starting this season, the networks announced Wednesday.

It seems like their strategy was to outrageously overspend on the rights to avoid FOX (and NBC) from getting CFP games, then sub-licensed some of those games back out to recoup some of their cost.

I wonder if these are the games that will be going head to head with the NFL? Isnt that a thing? I haven't kept up with that.

That’s exactly it; they’ll get first round games and then quarterfinal games.
