I think Wisconsin fans really didn’t expect to make the playoffs. They’ll travel real well to the Outback Bowl or whatever NYD game they play in and will consider it a successful season.

Pinstripe Bowl with 3 or 4 losses; after playing 3 or 4 games against good competition all year.

I went to the tO$U/Northwestern and the UW/Illinois games with UW grads. After watching both teams back to back- they think there's a good chance tO$U embarrasses UW next week. They understand that UW's ranking (and Minnesota) was based on playing a truly pathetic schedule.

What you’re really saying there is that Wisconsin fans weren’t expecting to beat OSU.

I wish I had a coach that averaged 10+ wins a game and won bowl games.

Pitt fans shouldn’t throw stones.

Well Chryst had his chance to average 10+ wins at Pitt and he could barely scrape out a .500 record. He's certainly not a bad coach by any means, but he was a bad coach for Pitt, given our area's back-slapping shot-and-beer culture. His midwestern blandness and bovine blank stare work great at his Dairyland alma mater. Chryst is living his dream. Good for him. But good for Pitt that he is no longer our coach....he was the definition of underwhelming during his tenure here.

I don’t want to go through this again...he took over a literal dumpster fire.

Could not agree more. Played OSU -10.5 a few days ago, I’m sure it will be higher now. Wisconsin just doesn’t have the players on defense to slow Ohio st down, and if they fall behind Coan isn’t good enough to throw it 40-50 times a game with success.

I think the only way they keep it close is if Ohio St comes out a little flat.

What did that translate to on the ML?

I saw something this morning that said that a $100 three team parlay of Illinois, Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt would have netted something like $208,000.

Of course you would have had to have been clinically insane to have made that bet. First time since 2007 that three teams who were at least 17 point underdogs won in the same week.

It's still not clear to me why some of you are bashing Chryst and UW. Do you know how Pitt has done with supposedly easy games? Was it last year we lost to a two win UNC team? You give Pitt an easy schedule and it still ends up around 0.500
Stick to the Locker Room - you come across foolish when discussing sports.

Who is bashing Chryst?

People SIGNIFICANTLY underestimate just how good of a job Chryst did here. Yeah, he went 6-6 but a lesser coach by the second year could have been going 3-9.

This place practically eviscerated Chryst when he was at PITT.

Funny how the heart grows fonder over time.

C'mon Robin. They should have won 10 games in year 1 purely on how pathetic the schedule was.

It was crazy to see them ranked where they were with a schedule of USF, CMU, Kent State, Michigan, Northwestern, MSU, and Illinois. Not a great win on that slate (Michigan if you believe their ranking, despite a OOC schedule of Army and Mid Tennessee and likely to get shellacked by ND) and a terrible loss to a bad Illinois team (who lost to Eastern Michigan).

Wisconsin plays the only major contender in the conference next week in OSU and then back into Big10 West play.

Not so hard when you play Mumbles’ schedule and have an AD who’s calling all the shots. Wouldn’t take Mumbles if he came with a bow and a pot of cash.
