This team has quit. We are probably looking at 7-11 in the ACC.

Maybe it would be better if Young and Artis went pro meaning we lose all 5 starters and field a team of players who actually care. These are the same group of guys who quit last season and embarrasses themselves against GW in the NIT with Dan Dakich calling them out.

Remember when you predicted 12-6?

Just think if we didn't quit. We may have won by 20!!!! Some of the fans are the only ones who quit. Down 10 on the road and won the game. For some reason I think if they quit it would've been a different outcome.

Also, remember when you predicted this loss? Pretty impressive considering the three NBA players they have.
Dude who cares what the heck he predicted. That's what these kinds of boards are for, to give opinions, make predictions, etc...

Here's my prediction. Still playing way too inconsistent, lucky to pull out that win, miracle actually but it was a good road win.

Still think Pitt struggles in the 2nd half of conference play and are 50/50 to make the ncaa tournament. Need a couple of wins against top 20 teams or we might be left out because of the bad OOC schedule and lack of quality wins. Again, just MY opinion.

Why? I guess you have never been wrong about anything huh? Congrats for being a perfect individual. We're so honored to have you on the board. Can I have your autograph?

Funny Pitt won by 2 points. I'd say barely beating a 2-5 team on the road, getting blown out by a now 1-6 NC State team at home, getting blown out by a mediocre Louisville team on the road in 3 out of 4 games is not particularly funny. It's not like we beat UNC in Chapel Hill good god.

Been wrong about lots of things.

I love it when fans quit on their own team before the game is over, only to be shown to be fools.

I'm wrong a lot..... but I never quit on my own team while the game is still going on and the outcome is in doubt. I can't imagine a real fan who does.

You deserve a 'Goldie' for that one SMF. LOL. In this case he would have not been that far off.

Pitt was an underdog today.

Our record is actually better than the betting lines suggest it should be. Pitt has been favored in 4 ACC games and underdogs in 3 (ND, Louisville, and FSU). Our record should be 4-3.

That it is 5-2 is a testament to how good our coach actually is.

ANY, and I repeat ANY, road win in conference is a very good win, no matter the records.

Winning as a road underdog is always a good thing.

How do you define quit? Get down on them after consistently bad play for a few weeks now? Maybe have doubts that are normal feelings to have after again trailing big at the half? I don't understand what you want everyone to do, keep saying Go Pitt Go Pitt??

Your reasoning makes no sense to me at all. not everyone sees things half full, there are many many people with many different personalities and ways to deal with frustration. Obviously you are the rah rah type. SMF, myself and others are not. Deal with it.

I agree and am not discounting that. Just when UPitt89 starts laughing at SMF's post it's ridiculous. Pitt needs though to start beating a few top 20 teams to boost that ncaa resume.

I agree with California Panther any road win in conference looks good to the committee.

Louisville isn't mediocre. They are 16-3, 5-1( good for second) in the conference.

The problem isn't whether or not some fan quit on the team (whatever that would mean). The problem is that SMF accused the team of quitting. While I think we can all agree that that does happen sometimes, accusing a player or a team of quitting is a pretty serious charge in the sports world. It speaks to people's character, not just their play. Generally speaking if you accuse someone of quitting in a game that they come back win you aren't just wrong, you have engaged in a form of character assassination.

Agree. There are many times I just can not believe how bad we look. Bottom line though we are 16-3 (5-2). That's a pretty darn good start. And let's not overreact to the losses we have. The bottom of the ACC (probably minus BC) is at worst a bunch of teams that would be in the upper middle of most other conferences. Talent just isn't enough to win in a league this good, but it is needed.

Fair points.

Seeing as how SMF loves to make predictions and bring them up when he's right, I think this is deserved. Heck, he even takes credit for things he didn't actually say. Plus, he claimed the team had quit,

Okay but in all seriousness, isn't that what you could do on message boards? These forums allow all different types of fans to post their beliefs, thoughts, predictions, etc...

Mainly the one where he said Jay Paterno should be looked at as our offensive coordinator. That was funny.
I wish we could save that post and post it on this site's front page. I don't dislike SMF, but that was seriously the most hysterical idea anyone here has ever come up with.

well, they did win at Notre Dame. two road wins in the ACC at this point is pretty good. I have no idea what happened in the first half agains NC State, that was embarrassing. the game at Louisville also, but overall this team has had more good moments than bad. they have a chance to be a pretty good team if they play defense and shoot half decent. need some top 20 wins. I predict that beating Virginia will be the first one.
