The ACCN is part the ABC/ESPN/Disney family. The ACC geographic footprint of states also contains the largest combined population of any other conference. That's very significant in regards to advertising appeal and exposure to eyeballs. Much of the ACC membership is also located in population growth states (especially the Carolinas, GA, FL). My feelings are that puts the ACC and ACCN in a tremendous position of strength, relative to conferences such as the PAC 12 and Big XII, in particular, that don't have their own linear channels.
Add in the ND agreement to play 6 ACC games a year and it gives the ACC even more strength in terms of ratings and an additional element of fan appeal.
ACC basketball is every bit as strong of a product as there is in the nation. Expect the ACC and ACCN to continue to thrive moving ahead. It's now up to Pitt to do what it takes to thrive on the field to take advantage of their opportunities as an ACC member.
