I agree. Just because peterman can't throw the ball downfield and the defense knows he can't doesn't mean you should throw the ball down field.

I don't blame him solely for that lose , we don't have the talent. I do know, we will never win big with him, nobody ever did, he is not 28, he been around a long time
Can't nitpick, as I was at a wedding in Ohio. All that I know is when I saw the Henderson 50 yd score to tie at 38, I announced it to our table of mixed Pitt and OSU fans, and all seemed surprised that Pitt was hanging around against Ok St late in the game.

NCSt just signed him to a guaranteed 3 year $560k per year deal. He was leaving and they knew it. BTW, NCSt is on the hook for whatever difference in pay he got at Pitt. If they were so unhappy with his work- why did he get guaranteed 3 year contract?

OKST had playmakers at every position. We have one reliable lightening bolt on offense (Henderson) playing against a defenses that's geared up to stop our run game. With that said, the offense scored 42 and 31 points over the last two weeks... Canada should get a raise, not fired.

I just want to get this straight. Despite having a mediocre QB and receivers, we scored 80 points and had nearly 1,000 yards the last two weeks vs power 5 competition. And yinz want to fire the OC???????????

he has the offense executing a bunch of schemes that these players have never run before as much as they do now and the offense is executing those schemes at a very high level. pitt offenses in the recent past would not be executing all this motion and misdirection etc. as consistently and as well as they have this year. geez just remember that in 2014 and 2015 everybody hated the jet sweep because pitt kinda sucked at running it. now the jet sweep is pitt's most productive offensive play. doesn't seem like it can be stopped, it's a guaranteed 5 yard gain at least and usually way, WAY more.

Keep in mind that there are people posting in this thread who last week said that the quarterback should be benched because he obviously can't throw a deep ball down the field and that the offensive coordinator should be fired because he wasn't calling any passes deep down the field.

If Peterman sucks (which he kinda does) and the team has averaged 40 points a game against power 5 team, doesn't that mean Canada is likely doing a decent job?

with the exact same personnel running the exact same plays under any of the last 5 OCs pitt loses this game by 3 TDs and loses the PSU game by 10 points. this pitt offense under canada executes more consistently than any pitt offense since the walt harris days.

To be honest, this offense generated 31 points against a decent Power 5 team. I agree that the passing game sucks, but part of that is our QB and WR talent is thin. They need to make a concerted effort to recruit those positions. Sad, because had been WR U for awhile. Under the circumstances, 31 points isn't bad.
