Gonzaga vs UVa

I don’t watch as much as some but Gonzaga is the best team I’ve seen and I’m not sure it’s even close. But I haven’t seen Baylor at all.
Baylor is good enough to beat Gonzaga. I'm not so sure about the rest of the field.
Trying to get a feel for a team from Spokane again team from Virginia in Fort Worth with no fans. Who paid for this?
There's a really large gap already between the top group of Gonzaga and Baylor and the best of the rest in Villanova and Wisconsin by the numbers, I'm curious to see what Baylor does in B12 play because the Zags are coasting home from this game with a 33% chance to go unbeaten.
I actually kind of like them offensively, Hauser and Murphy were really great adds, but they are nothing like the vintage Virginia teams on the defensive end against good teams. Still probably good enough to be the ACC co-favorite with Florida State.
There is no Dre Hunter, but other than that, it's pretty much your typical UVA team. Diakite is a loss defensively, with his athleticism and shot-blocking ability. I don't think the Cavs have ever been just chock full of talent like other programs that win at a high level.
Hunter, Guy, and Jerome... who else?
Kyle Guy and Ty Jerome are on NBA rosters. That's about the extent of it. I doubt either one of them averaged more than 5 pts per game.
this is not a typical VA team. Their pack line defense is terrible. They haven’t bought in. And for some reason TB changed his entire offense to “recruit better” and it’s a mess.

Baylor is right behind Gonzaga, who is incredible. Baylor has the best defensive backcourt in the country. They have depth.
Andrew Nembhard (Zags PG) would start for any other team in the country. Timme is silky smooth. White swing guy great too.
Both schools head and shoulders above the rest. Such a shame that game couldn’t get off the ground but we took advantage and gave Zags best game so far. Some bad foul calls and some dumb fouls by our bigs did us in. Baylor will run us out of the gym. Absolute worst matchup for WVU.

Easy, easy bet at Zags -8. I figured a 20 point win and they were up by 33 at one point.
Baylor can beat the Zags because of their guard play. They may be the only team that had much of a chance.
UVA is al right, but this is their worst team in about 7-8 years. They are an NCAA team, but I don't think they win more than 2 and probably only 1 at best.

Agree. And to be honest, that's more in line with who they are in the postseason. I think Bennett has only been to Sweet 16 or deeper 3 times since he's been at UVA.
I honestly do think this Gonzaga team is a legit threat to go undefeated and cut down the nets this year though.
Easily, although the WCC is probably as good as it has been and there are a few teams that can give them games.
Definitely agree about the WCC. They were a cut above usual last year and look to be even better this season. You have to figure that there will be one game somewhere where the shots just aren’t falling and Gonzaga is going to have a struggle.
The thing that is going to hurt some of those teams though is no fans in the stands. Imagine if Gonzaga has a game where things aren't going all that well at some place like St. Mary's or BYU. The crowds at those places would be going absolutely bonkers. I don't know what the crowd rules are at all the schools in the WCC, but I can't imagine that any of the California schools are going to have any fans in the stands any time soon. And California schools are seven of Gonzaga's nine conference foes.
I wouldn’t hold my breath with Portland either, and even with their somewhat docile fans there they just don’t have the horses to beat Gonzaga.
BYU is obviously a different story, that is a really tough place for visitors to play. At this point I think they are just letting family into their games, and I haven’t seen anything where they plan on revisiting the issue any time soon.
