When he committed, you were a jerk if you mentioned that he'll probably not sign and didn’t blindly celebrate the verbal. But now that it was proven to be correct, you're still a jerk for simply pointing out that he left (thought our highest-rated recruit flipping might be newsworthy... silly me!). When Pitt was 5-0 you were a jerk for saying this team is flawed. Now that the flaws are surfacing... well.
I'm not Pittzit. I call it like I see it. And it's in both directions, though only the negatives seems to register with some. Perhaps more of a reflection on their own sensitivity 🤔
Picture this…. A loving family is sitting down for Thanksgiving and they’re all enjoying their meal. Even 90-year-old Grandma and Grandpa have a big smile on their face! But then you get up to propose a toast to Grandma and Grandpa and remind everybody that this could be their last Thanksgiving with the family because they are old and sickly.…. Basically, you are reminding everyone about what they already know but trying to stay positive and enjoy the moment. You are then ostracized for being insensitive.
Next year rolls around and the grandparents die before Thanksgiving. You go out of your way to tell everyone that you were right and they were wrong…

Well, it's not really me reminding everyone of the worst that can happen; it's calling it like I see it. I predicted double digits wins before 2020 (pre-Covid, when we thought Twyman would play, Ford would play at an AA level, etc.) and 2021.
And this thread was posted more in an "oh well" than "I told you so" tone, though I admit I often get too easily prodded into the latter.

It is frustrating, no doubt. I try not to dwell on it, because deep down, we all know. Does this class get me excited? No. All we can do is trust the staff that they can ID some good players,. Most of the 4 star recruits we have gotten haven't been that great but some of the lower rated players have played above their rating. We can only hope for more of these:

Where’s the part where finding a few diamonds in the rough over the years (like every other P4 team does) translates to a lot of winning?
I mean who cares if Dooz, or Chryst, or Wanny, or WLAT, or whoever finds a few gold nuggets in a shit pile here and there, unless it’s translating to a lot of good football?
You need about 44 good players on one roster, or 30 good ones and a couple of great ones to field a legit top 25 football team.

Correct. Every P4 team in America has players as good or better than many of the ones above. Regardless, and without bringing up the same arguments as to why it is statistically better to recruit 4/5 stars than 2/3 stars, I'll just say:
1. The lifeblood of a Narduzzi team is its D line, so hopefully they can keep this core intact
2. No idea how you fix this O line in one season, but it feels like the guys already on the roster need to get a lot better
3. Should be in contention for the best LBers in the country if they all come back; hopefully that distinction means something to them and entices them to do such
4. Wide receiver recruiting under Narduzzi had been inexcusable, and they better hit the transfer jackpot on somebody

Huh? Addison won the Biletnikoff, Means & DJ Turner are earning an NFL paycheck, Mumfield is solid, Taysir Mack when healthy was pretty good.
Kenny Johnson shows potential, Jared Wayne was pretty decent
