While the Pirates and Bob Nutting rightfully so get so much media heat, and the Pens have finally hit that bottom where now a rebuild is in order, the Steelers get a pass. They haven't won a playoff game in almost a decade. They are now rated amongst the bottom in many of the categories by the NFLPA. This iconic franchise is no longer special They are beholden to a three headed monster of:
1) A completely overrated coach who has a national media cheering section, maybe because he is black, but has now held this franchise hostage.
2) A completely over the head owner who did not inherit any of his dad's football acumen and refuses to do what needs to be done.
3) An adherence to a time gone long past that the league has passed them by.
In saying this, what would give me great pleasure (outside of a ski lift accident for another owner) is for Kenny Pickett to start for the Browns and to beat the Steelers. Twice. Badly.
This is what I am rooting for this season.
