Hudson today

This Harbaugh is pretty good at this recruiting thing.

No I wouldn't run and hide, but the kid is really good so I'd rather not have him kicking peoples a$$es when we play Penn State on September 10th.
He's likely two years from seeing the field at Michigan and should redshirt this year. They return their entire 2 deep in the secondary, which contains 2 sure fire AAs and which will be one of the best in the country.

QB is the one position where Les doesn't have much of a track record.
Could be the reason why he was in trouble lately in keeping the job. Most Coaches that ignore that position or can't find a Great QB cause big problems for a Team. Pitt had that same problem from Harris to Wannstedt to Graham to Chryst. Great QBs can cover many weaknesses and at the same time be the reason why yo8u win a Championship. The only Player that touches and commands the ball every play, except the Center. I am always amazed at their Skills, having to make sure they get ball, hold onto it, throw, hand off, pitch, and still read Defenses and command audibles and bark out cadences while being pursued by guys that just want to smash you?

At the same time, one Coach that used to build good Teams without Great QBs was Paterno. I asked him once why no Great QBs at PSU? He told me, I want my Team playing its best at all positions not just one. Yet, he with Sandusky often caused Teams with great QBs great problems. Such as Testaverde, Hostelier, Flutie, Marino, Randle El etc etc. Yet, when Illinois and Purdue did have great QBs that is when they beat PSU too?

Still, once you build a Team around a Great QB if he is injured the Team finds it tough to win, that is when Great Coaching takes over? For example:

1. The Pitt 1976 National Chamnpionship Team lost Haygood, then Cavanaugh, and had to have a QB Yewcic take over, but the Team was built around Tony Dorsett not the QB?

2. The 1986 Penn State Team was built around a Penn State Defense and Running game not the QB Shafer, but went undefeated and beat mighty Miami that year?

3. The 1988 WVU Team had Major Harris but he was knocked out early in the NCS Title Game and ND won?

Yet, now, Franklin even with a 5 Star QB has had trouble winning? I know you blame the OL and I used to agree with that, but the addition of Barkley and Great Wideouts tells me it is a bigger problem than just the OL? Now up to OC Moorhead to break in a New QB with Top RBs and WRs and OL that is 3rd year better?

On the other hand, Pitt has Peterman back with a New OC and should be pretty good with all experience around them. Why I think they are looking for a True Great Freshmen to replace Boyd for this years Recruiting Class?

Same with WVU that has produced a great Power QB Running Game, after losing the 4 straight big games, but they did lose Smallwood? I was told they are weak in the Backfield now?

Any thoughts?

The main reason Les has trouble keeping a job is that his fanbase is batshit crazy.

A poor OL and a totally immobile QB is a bad combo. PSU just needs a huge influx of talent. However, Franklin isn't even giving them that. This is his 3rd class overall, and when you look at the big picture at how he has recruited, I gotts say its a big fail.

True having that double edge sword of when the Fan Base expects the Best to beat the Best every year. So far, only Saban and Meyer seem to do that most times they get to Conference or NCS Game?

Hmmnnn, hard to see how he did so well at Vandy and so bad so far at PSU and still has a problem? I still think it he is a good coach but not a very good coach up against MSU, OSU, and Michigan that have Great Coaches!

Also, do not see him Coaching up much either or working as hard as other Head Coaches, it is like I hired my Staff and up to them to do the job, as he goes off answering emails and tweeting? Just what I see when he is on the sidelines, seldom talks or coaches his players, and what i read about his off game attitude. At the same time, I watched Dabo and Saban and other Coaches and they grab their players as they come off the field and talk to them.

I just hope that there aren't Pitt fans going onto PSU and WVU message boards with fake handles posting stupid $hit. That has to be the biggest loser thing imaginable.

And it doesn't bother you a little that Hudson & Sanders are right in the back yard & we still can't land them?

Well, you did get Sanders. I think it is more Pitt's backyard though than your school. We got Pugh, Ford, Coleman, Wheeler, Garner and Ford next year.... all rated as high as Hudson. As far as Pitt getting every single player in the WPIAL it will never happen, and we probably wouldnt want it to happen. It was well known Sanders was a ups recruit before Narduzzi even got here.

So, short answer, nope doesnt bother me in the slightest.

He was quoted in your favorite newspaper as saying, "I think I have a good chance to start as a freshman." Wonder where he got that idea? Will be interesting to see which of their starters Harbaugh will sit for him.
