I am hoping for good things from the QB

Based on what, EXACTLY? Or is just because you say so?

I’ve said a number of times I’m not Pickett’s biggest fan. But he’s not terrible. Needs a lot more talent around him.

But a proclamation like yours in nonsensical.

And who is he? As far as I know we don’t even know who’s playing until the line up.

Edit - I see now it’s Yellen. But still have no clue how you know he’s more talented. He played decently the few times he’s played but we’ll see. I too HOPE you turn out to be correct.

He has more talent than Pickett, hope he shows promise if nothing else today
Pickett has a lot of flaws, I’ve been a critic of his the past 2 years. But saying things like the backup has “more talent” and expecting better things from the backups is delusional.

Reminds me of the days on this board when MacVittie was viewed as the repressed talent being forced to play behind pikers like DiNucci. Yeah, TMac was such a good QB the coaches had him risking his neck on the kick and return teams.

Pickett is the starter for a reason. Narduzzi certainly isn’t the smartest head coach in the world, but he’s smart enough to play his best option at QB.

It’s probably every board/fan everywhere. Always some who say put (insert backup name here) in. He can’t be any worse. Then time and again we see with our own eyes the next man up is indeed worse.

I think Yellen is more comfortable sitting the the pocket, making his reads and the throw. Pickett is too quick to get on the move. Yellen won't move the chains with his legs, but I am excited to see what he'll bring to the passing game.

I’ll say Yellen was certainly viewed as more talented coming out of high school, but that seems like a long time ago. If you watched him in the USC game he looked pretty good, but had some ball security issues. Really small sample size though.

This team right now a lot better with Pickett at QB.

Agreed. People tend to get attached to those high school ratings. Like Max Browne. And our own Bostick was rated fairly high.

Max Browne I understand, guy had a cannon for an arm and could make all the throws, was just too immobile to play at a high level. Will never, ever see why talent evaluators rated Bostick so highly, guy had a wet noodle for an arm and didn’t look particularly accurate either.

Yea. Agree with that as well. But I was just commenting on how people hang on to those ratings to begin with.
