I will leave this here....

Yes, winning in the playoffs is better than not winning in the playoffs. Tomlin's entire philosophy right now won't cut it to make a deep run in the playoffs anymore. He coaches scared.

“For us, it’s about playing to a personality that we prescribe to engineer victory, to possess the ball,” Tomlin said. “And a component of possessing the ball is not only time, but managing risk. And obviously, there’s less risk with running the football than throwing it, and sometimes that’s a component of this discussion as well.”

He basically just told us he'd rather lean on a running game that is not working than throw the ball to reduce the risk of turnovers. Good enough to squeak into the playoffs, not good enough to win in the playoffs.
I care about winning championships
Other than that - who really cares ?
Making the playoffs gives you a chance to do that

Same thing with making the NCAAT - you can’t win it all if you’re not in it

Championship or bust? Watching the Steelers during the Cowher era when they won a playoff game 8 out of 15 years and advancing to 6 AFC Championship games was infinitely more fun than watchin Tomlin's teams win a playoff game in 4 out of 17 years so far.

Until they fell short.
Is watching. Losing afc championships the goal ?

I think that the 80's Steelers were better than the 2020's teams. If it wasn't for the glorious 70's, those teams would get more respect. Aside from 86' when they played a horrid schedule with one of the youngest rosters in history and the 88' team that was destroyed by injury, all those teams were competitive with anyone. Their division was a bit tougher.
